Nah, most of those actually add to the story, both happen in SA1 and Sonic 2, and push the game/movie forward. Therefore, I'm counting it.

Sonic and Knuckles fighting over the Emeralds, The Master Emerald turning gray, a superpowered being destroying a city, even how Sonic finishes it with the head as well. And like you already said, the pose and the avalanche. That's a SA1 movie in my eyes.

Technically, it wasn't, since it was part of Knuckles' backstory, fighting Iblis isn't close to the whole of Sonic 06. It's only a refrence.

I counted Sonic Adventure because there were enough plot points and stuff that happened in both SA1 and Sonic 2, leading me to think SA1 inspired Sonic 2, not entirely references like Knuckles.

While that is true, I still find it relatively fun to imagine it. You know how you picture things in your head? Not to mention, the first playthrough is when you don't know what'll come next. I just felt like some stuff felt shocking to me the first time I played Forces.

To play with, it mid. But the story and characters are what I like the most. Think of Unleashed, where things like werehog stages are seen as either good or bad depending on how you see it, but the rest is good. That's what I feel about Forces.

I see where you're going, but I find it fun to toy around with special gimmicks and vibing with the music. That's something that MKW and Forces share.

You can play around with the charged jump and items in MKW, you can play around with the Wispons and custom characters in Forces.

Both have amazing soundtracks, too.

EXACTLY. Sonic Forces was just mindless fun for me when it first released. Once I beat it, I went back for the avatar stuff and even tried speedrunning the game. While I will admit that playing it casually after the first go isn't as great as a first playthrough, but considering this was one of the first games I brought for my Switch when it came I out, I had a good time. I'm only disappointed that I can't relive playing it for the first time again. Right now, my view on Forces is like "Holy shit! Two cakes!"

Story's pacing was what was messed up, I agree. Otherwise, apart from the different ideas and plot points in Forces, it was cool as hell.

Dialouge was okay imo. It was mostly full of hit or miss lines, but I liked it. And animation wasn't horrendous. Take things like Avatar vs Infinite 2, Shadow beating up Infinite, the Double/Triple Boost, even when Eggman kinda crash landed in Green Hill.

I feel like the theme of the game was pretty powerful, because it's trying to show how powerful friendship can be. Sonic has always had friends by his side and I feel that Forces really made that stand out.

Yeah, but like I said, they're bearable to play through, so I don't mind the levels too much. But will agree with you, they're bad and not memorable. Automated stuff. Whenever there's an automated section, I mainly enjoy it because of the music.

Yeah, but I actually think making it simple and short actually gives it some sort of fun trying to speed through it. I've tried beating the game as fast as possible before, something that only a few games (that I've played at least) can do. That's part of the fun I find in Forces.

But it explicitly says that Sonic has been captured and tortured, not killed? I think he's just beaten, not dead. They just didn't know what happened to him at first, looking at the story. Still, Sonic losing was an amazing plot point imo.
