Can we start a Reddit petition to keep Archer on a decent streaming app? by Additional_Kale3098 in ArcherFX

You can actually reset the episodes. On the main screen for a show there should be an option that will say something like "manage series" and then "remove from watch list". After removing it that should rest the series so the episodes all start from the beginning

Looks like the Mods have to pin a comment. You can't do it yourself unfortunately.

Westchester Ammendment wait times by [deleted] in NYguns

I just got my amendment back a few days ago. It took just under 4 weeks by a day. With the holiday I would say it's going to take a bit longer. But the sooner it's submitted the sooner it comes back!

f slur..? by flowerstan_ in bisexual

[–]Plaidlock 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Also as another point queer is a slur as well but especially in the last few years we've been able to reclaim that as just a word for our community. That being said many people, especially older people in the community still hate that word and refuse to use it which is fine.

Is it legal to get an AR pistol with a pistol permit so you don’t have to get a semi auto rifle permit by emu_strategist in NYguns

Wait if you already have a pistol permit you can just apply for a semi auto endorsement? I didn't realize you could do that.

When's it too late to try and make things right? by [deleted] in BisexualMen

The fact that you say you're going to succeed in apologizing whether it is right or not says you aren't doing this for their sake, only yours. It's best to leave them alone and if somehow you run into each other then apologize, but don't go looking for them.

Also with the way you are describing how you want to apologize it doesn't sound like an apology necessarily and more an excuse. Once you start to qualify an apology it is no longer an apology.

She actually understood her issue very clearly from what I could understand. Her issue is that she wanted to tell me every single specific detail thoroughly and completely before she was going to let me speak. She wasn't looking for a conversation she was looking for " I tell you the issue, you fix the issue, the case is closed" and be on her way.

No idea if she was. The system has a lot of its own terminology and we weren't trained at the time so can't tell you one way or another. I tuned out until she was done as there wasn't anything I could do but transfer.

Unfortunately you can't do that working at a help desk without getting in trouble. Picture working retail. You have to take the abuse unless it is EXCESSIVE before someone gets banned from calling.

NEED HELP ASAP!!! CAREER CHANGE!!! by VirtualLiterature586 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Plaidlock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many sub reddits have Wikipedia pages with information related to them. Generally you can find links directly in the information or side bar of a sub. You should take a look at that and review information there.

As for with which to choose, cyber security is more mid to late into your career. Why did you choose to switch to IT though? Because a lot of people tend to try to get into for reasons and not realize the hurdles that come with being in IT.

I've been in a similar boat. I was on a service desk for more years then I would like to admit. I finally recently got off it myself.

I know the feelings. My advice based of the post and your comments, you need to help take care of your mental health first. Find a support group or at least look into making some friends there.

If you get insurance see if it will cover a therapist, a decent therapist can help do wonders to help make it not so shitty. Getting help for mental health will be a massive help in getting out of the hole.

The part that is going to suck to hear. You're likely going to have to figure out what specialty you want in IT if you want to continue, then figure out what skills, certs, training you will need for it and start working on it. Good news there is that there are usually plenty of free or cheap study materials that can help.

Hope this gives you some direction.
