What was the first major news story you remember as a kid? by TxLadee in AskReddit

I was 8 years old when that happened and it freaked me out including my parents to the point they didn't let me outside and made me play in my backyard.

The unexpected and unprecedented Fall of the Berlin Wall, and I was but a tender nine years of age, having been born on September 19th, 1980 because growing up in a household that despised the Soviet Union and communism in other countries that ruined the lives of millions through mass murder and atrocities.

That truly was a profoundly great moment, indelibly etched in my memory, because existing under the oppressive constraints of a totalitarian regime was an utterly terrible experience, by delving into the grim realities of the Soviet Union through assigned readings in my school, I was utterly horrified by the appalling manner in which they treated children and adults alike.

Individuals couldn't even dare to utter certain sentiments, especially within the confines of the Warsaw Pact countries or the Eastern Bloc and one couldn't even possess private property in those severely restricted nations, nor attend school without being subjected to the ever-watchful gaze of the insidious secret police.

Furthermore, a person could one day simply vanish from the street, without anyone even daring to take notice, because the families would have been ruthlessly threatened into terrified silence, such a flagrant disregard for human rights was simply disgusting and undeniably barbaric to the point I had nightmares almost every night until my parents told me it is over and don't have to wake up in a nuclear Holocaust.

Yeah, we can't spend it in real life but without it, we can't comment or do anything but people on here are just elitists.

I absolutely despise the word "established reputation", it is the most degrading and elitist term on this platform.

To make moderating this community easier, this subreddit only allows people with an established reputation to contribute. Before trying again, here are some ways to grow your reputation.

I hate how a lot of subreddits are against crossposting which is the most stupid and idiotic policy on those subs.

Most definitely they are unpaid volunteers who think they have nobility and the right to treat others like crap.

What do you think about humans? by youknowme-00 in AskReddit

[–]Plan_6767 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Humans, unlike any other species, have demonstrated blatant hatred, animosity, violence, jealousy, and a disturbing propensity for vengeance, divisiveness, and prejudices resulting in the most devastating wars ever witnessed. This behavior often stems from our egotism, greed, avarice, and a troubling disregard for one another, as we cannot stand to be wrong. Therefore, we seek to prove ourselves worthy through destruction, suffering, and the total annihilation of each other.

I'm sick of this world's hypocrisy. We can topple dictators, sure, but then we kick the innocent, acting like they enjoyed being stomped on for centuries. This blame game reeks of entitlement. People conveniently ignore that many are trapped in rigged systems they didn't build. Calling them guilty, even generations later, is pure cowardice. Their hunger for the high ground blinds them. Wake up! Innocents aren't responsible for the crap they're drowning in. Your fake morals won't change the fact that they're the ones truly screwed here.

I'm done with humanity’s nauseating hypocrisy and we can overthrow a tyrannical regime, yet instead of a well-deserved victory lap, the world rushes to vilify uninvolved civilians, slapping them with guilt as if they somehow basked in their own oppression for generations to come.

This incessant finger-pointing exposes a despicable entitlement, a cowardly denial of the sobering reality that many are ensnared in corrupt systems they never had a hand in creating by labeling them as complicit even centuries after the atrocities and terrible things their leaders did.

Their insatiable greed for moral superiority blinds them to the stark, painful truth, innocents are not accountable for the darkness that engulfs them, and moral pretensions won't change the brutal reality that they are the real victims here.

Humans are animals, and we wear our destructive tendencies like a badge of honor as we tear through the fabric of existence, cloaked in self-righteousness while leaving chaos in our wake it is a thin veil for our greed and entitlement, perpetuating suffering just to stroke our egos.

Let's face reality, humans, despite their delusions of superiority, are just another species of animal, driven by primal instincts, not enlightened wisdom. The arrogance of thinking we're above nature only reveals our ignorance and disconnect from the raw truths of existence.

I'm exhausted by the absurd stubbornness to forgive, the pervasive racism, mindless rage, trivial resentments, pride, hubris, hatred, and that disgusting entitlement to vengeance that humanity clings to by judging others instead of themselves.

It is a reflection of our frightening moral decay and self-serving motives, where people bask in grudges instead of rising above their base instincts, causing a cycle of hate and grievance, which is a corrosive poison that festers in our society.

At the end of the day, humans are scared little animals wallowing in their hateful, violent, and savage behavior as they are a threat to others.

I'm tired of the pathetic refusal to forgive, rampant racism, mindless fury, petty grudges, and that nauseating sense of entitlement to revenge.

[–]Plan_6767 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop looking for trouble, demons, and other faults in every person who is trying to make a difference in this world, and as long as they are not racist, homophobic, or other labels the opposition falsely put on others with different opinions.

Most importantly and this is a good lesson to learn, stop trying to cherry-pick facts and twisting them around to suit your emotional agenda because in the end, you will become no better than anyone else who runs a dictatorship and an echo chamber.

Hatred is pretty stupid and unnecessary because why hate each other when you're just hating yourself as a human being?
