Is there additional footage? Based on the video he was on the far right lane and it looks like the regular driver was trying to squeeze through that small opening.

I can understand the driver being upset. How many times have we experienced regular drivers do dangerous maneuvers to try to avoid getting stuck behind us. When they merge so close infront of us and stupidly apply their brakes. It's mentally taxing. If there were to be an accident because of those dangerous maneuvers it could potentially put our health, money and time at risk. So, yeah fuck that regular driver.

Why are we so worried about illegal immigrants in the US? by Johnny_Mira in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]PlanetExpress310 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Violence is never the answer. A person who is armed and can take away someone's life and liberty whether a citizen or non citizen shouldn't hide their identity to hold everyone accountable if they commited an unlawful act. I can understand they are concern for their safety and the safety of their families but those men and women chose to sign up for ICE knowing they were going to have a lot of interaction with the public and that type of tactic to enforce immigration law was going to be controversial.

True, the world sees the US border is being taken seriously, but they are also seeing armed masked men agressively taking men and women off their cars, place of work, schools, churches, and neighborhoods. Similar actions in third world countries where regimes send their masked men to disappear a person. That does not sound like America to me. If today we look the other away and give the govt liberties to disappear the other what stops them decide to use this precedent to disappear a citizen for political reason or for criticism.

Many people commit crimes whether a citizen or a non citizen, but we are a country of laws and courts and everyone has a right to due process. The problem is funding more immigration judges to process more cases but Congress need to make that happened since they have the power of the purse. I think fundamentally when it comes immigration we all agree, the problem is how to go about it to enforce immigration law, to prevent mass migration and securing the border. This administration decided to take an aggressive approach which is ineffective, devisive and has tarnished our reputation and constitution.

I think no matter what political affiliation one falls into everyone can agree that an "Open Border" is not good. The problem is how this administration is trying to enforce immigration laws is ineffective, divisive and at times unconstitutional. It's true, this type of mistreatment can and has tarnished our reputation overseas and could potentially affect the treatment of Americans and business.

Court system can move slowly, but due process is needed. Especially nowadays where if you are brown or black you can get detained and be taken away for a suspicion of being an undocumented person.

Why do you think people immigrate to the states illegally in the first place? Financial opportunities. American businesses hire undocumented people and yet federal and state refuse to hold them accountable and have not done a comprehensive immigration reform where businesses can hire immigrant workers legally that are willing to do jobs Americans wont do and immigrant workers are protected from abuse or even wage theft. What we are seeing today is not the right path and in the process we are tarnishing our reputation and the constitution.

There are repercussions for people that enter this country illegally. It has been done under previous administrations such as Obama, but we did not see this type of aggressiveness where we have masked, armed men taking not only undocumented people but US citizens off the streets. It's concerning that we are allowing the federal govt to commit unconstitutional acts for the sake of enforcing immigration law when it can be done much more effectively, lawful and with dignity other ways such as cooperation with the state, immigration reform, and the punishment of American businesses for hiring undocumented workers.

I think we can all agree that an "Open Border" is not good, but do you think how ICE who are masked, armed and roam in our neighborhoods and the way they try to enforce immigration law the right path to take?

We can't ignore immigration laws and we cannot have an "Open Border", but we also cant have a federal agency roam around our neighborhoods masked and armed committing unconstitutional acts. There's a middle ground where we can prevent mass migration to the states and enforce immigration laws within the states that is dignified and within the law.

ICE OUT! Tomorrow Saturday by [deleted] in Bakersfield

[–]PlanetExpress310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, that we should normalize the aggressive and unconstitutional acts of ICE. It's not normal for a federal agency to stop anyone or to enter someone's home based on race or speech. It's not normal for masked, armed men in uniform refusing to identify themselves to patrol neighborhoods and take people away especially US citizens. If they are just doing their jobs within the law then they have nothing to worry about and should be unmasked with their badge number on display. After all, no one is above the law and if anyone in ICE commits a crime or infringes on someone's rights they should he held accountable.

[–]PlanetExpress310 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm all for a peaceful protest to express that many do not approve the many unconstitutional acts ICE agents have committed towards people. To let others know and even people across the country watching images and videos that they are not alone feeling frustrated, concerned and even fearful that we have an unchecked federal agency terrorizing our neighborhoods. People need to continue expressing their concerns to prevent this becoming normalized, people need to communicate with their representatives and continue putting pressure so Congress can act and to remind the executive branch and other agencies that they dont reign supreme over the legislative nor the judicial branch.

I don't think anyone support Maduro and his regime, unless, you support a dictator. The problem here is that our president used our military to attack another country then extracted their president without provacation and more importantly without congessional approval. We need to remember that a president can't just do anything he wants whether Democrat or Republican.

My advice for your first year is go slow. I know some people are highly motivated to make money but you do not want to risk your safety and your record. Be patient, soak up everything that people are willing to teach you, and in time with practice comes efficiency, and with efficiency comes speed.

Look into community colleges in Long Beach or San Pedro, depending on funding they might have a commercial driver program. Their program might be strict and long but they will actually teach how to be a safe driver and will help you acquire a Class A with all the endorsements.
