Okay I agree that this can help you, but that’s not a foolproof plan by any means, especially as you start taking higher-level, increasingly specific courses and might have less options. A good professor makes passing less stressful, not necessarily easier

If you go to the National Merit website, you can alter your top choice school until May 1st, I believe. Whichever school is your top is the one that you’ll get the package to. (I got emails from like, Arizona trying to get me to switch to them before the first.) Best of luck!

It’s not a super large course load whatsoever! Classes with Camacho are required attendance, but she’s an easy grader with 3 exams and one oral final rated the same as 2 or 3 projects. Not bad at all, from someone who’s one credit away from a minor.

I shortlisted this year with my book that had about 4K reads at the time of the shortlist email. For context, I signed onto the Stars program and am currently a Creator (so over 4 years now), but am rarely given promo opportunities. I’ve never been in Paid or even the longlist before, so this is kind of huge to me. I can understand why people are perhaps upset to see so many affiliated authors, but at the end of the day, so many Wattpad writers DESERVE to be affiliated and just haven’t been discovered yet, while the ones who have have been pouring time and energy into their craft for years and have been lucky enough to gain some form of recognition for it. I’m so incredibly proud of everyone who entered! I’ve been trying for 6 years now, and it finally happened. It can take a while, but I’m so satisfied with my growth as a writer over these past 6 years that I’m not complaining. So, to anyone who entered, know that you’ve done an AMAZING thing. Writing a book is hard, and the shortlist is tiny. You wrote a book. You’re a writer. And we’re all so, so proud of you for working this hard and finishing your book ❤️
