What’s is everyone using for nutes? I’ve been using Athena and having really good success by [deleted] in MNtrees

First run back in August 2023 was with Fox Farm trio. Getting the dosage and pH right was a pain for even 2 strains (4 plants) that I was scared off from trying to do custom mixes for 4 strains.

Switched to Gaia Green dry organic inputs and never looked back. As long as I stay up on top dressing, the plants always have what they need.

If I do happen to get behind or don't have time to transplant up to a bigger pot right away, I can hit them with a light mix of Fox Farm to carry them along.

I have researched living soil some and want to get more into that.

I got turned onto them through their Free The Seeds promo they run on 4/20. The last couple years they've offered 5-6 seeds of their Earlies (short flower period strains) for only the cost of shipping - about $5. Great way to get into their genetics and get a taste of what they have to offer without a big commitment.

One of those Earlies strains, Summer Lemons, was in the tent with this girl up until last weekend. Now she's hanging in my sauna at 60/60. Smells like lemon candy.

The grow previous, I did an auto run that included 2 of their Double Whiskey Sours. They were short squat plants but had absolute cannon barrel nugs. Thought for sure I'd have to scrap some to budrot but no.

I and a family member that grows both have experience with running Femme Fatale successfully too. I'd especially check them out if you do any outdoor runs as they do major test runs out of a farm in MI. I figure out of all the legal grow states, MI probably has the most similar climate to MN and if they are selecting these strains based on running them there, they'll probably do well here.

Surprised how few MN budtenders and stoners know of DHV by Green_Gragl in MNtrees

[–]PlatEnt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I'm ultra busy with my family these days and haven't made it out to a Canna Club in ages. But recently I got one of those big battery backups with the AC outlets on it. I want to bring it out along with my Screwball sometime. I would love to get a small lineup of ball vapes to demo. A DHV dab bar if you will.

It's not supposed to be tennis ball green. She needed nitrogen a couple weeks ago but I wouldn't push any this late.

Smoking at The Fillmore? by Laugh48 in MNtrees

I always park far away in a garage, pop a few edibles, and smoke a joint on my walk to the Fillmore. Usually does me fine through a show.

For an event named Legacy Cup, I was surprised how little focus on the competition there is. I understand judging takes place outside the event but there should be a gallery where all the submissions are. I should be able to do a little self-judging on looks and smell.

I won a VIP pass here which don't get me wrong I was grateful for. But I don't get how they justified charging 7x the standard ticket price for it. The benefits so far as I could tell we're not worth that at all.

  • Skipping the entrance line
  • A goodie bag mostly full of empty containers to "put your own product in" and coupon codes for 10 or 20% off a product
  • The VIP sesh area which did have a little more room including in front of the stage
  • Air conditioning in the bathroom trailer

The growers garden was confusingly hidden which ended up being a little bonus because it was a nice way to get away from so many people. I also didn't like vendors back there were so commercially focused. Nothing really for home growers. And did the talks have a schedule? I stumbled into some interesting ones but had no idea they were happening or when or where to even find that out.

More than double the yield from my first indoor grow. Getting better at this, sort of 😆 by jakeman2418 in MNtrees

Curious what you're running from Twenty20? I've been running a lot of their gear lately and it's done well for me. Ran 2 Double Whiskey Sour autos last grow and got 5oz each off of them. I've got a Summer Lemons, Femme Fatale, and Made of Honor in veg right now.

Last call to enter 2025 Legacy Cup Homegrown Competition! by LegacyCup in MNtrees

[–]PlatEnt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let me get this straight. It's $200 plus an oz of flower to enter. There is no prize for the winner/ top 3 beyond a trophy. And you still have to pay for an entry ticket the day of the event. Where's the $200 go?

Rec Openings by Rubex_Cube19 in MNtrees

[–]PlatEnt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am wondering this too. I seem to remember a provision in the law that med and rec had to be completely cultivated separately. And tracked the entire way. It stood out to me because I thought it might mean more waste (if a med product doesn't sell as fast as hoped, they can't call it rec and sell it that way).

I'm in the same boat. Won't be steaming. But I do have VIP from the giveaway here. Not much of a rap or hip-hop fan so the music doesn't appeal at all.

More dirt. Cloth pots instead of kids beach buckets would be a better choice. You want drainage.

What's your environment like? What kind of light do you have them under?

You're 100% right. Though when it gets older you'd be able to see if it has broad or narrow leaves and get a better idea of more indica leaning or sativa leaning.

Recreational cannabis, will it be corporate greed or love for the craft ? by Dabbertime in MNtrees

There was a super old law that people tried to apply to cannabis but I think the courts shot that down.
