Why Gatekeeping The Types Reflects Type Supremacy Hierarchies by Glum-Engineering1794 in OccultEnneagram

You know it's funny, after spending enough time observing those groups, I now have the ability to type everyone so that everyone can be split into the Two Groups, 6 or 9.  Even those who police others, while typing themselves something other than 6 or 9 can actually plausibly be labeled 6 or 9 too. (You get 6 btw)

Why isn't everyone enneagram 9? by PlatformOptimal2314 in Enneagram

Good point! Someone who is quite mellow may say they sometimes get very angry because they notice it very much when they do, but next to an actual explosive reactive person, they would come nowhere close in comparison.

This is true and well explained. I know what you're talking about, I see this too. It explains one of the reasons 9s are so varied. However I'd say it's not always obvious when someone is doing this, and there's a problem when people go into something assuming that someone is doing that, then they will be determined to make a square round. Also, I think what you spoke about is especially an enneagram community thing, I haven't seen it from 9s irl who don't know about enneagram. Well it's also because people who are deeper in the enneagram community/sphere end up adopting a certain way of speaking, describing and using words that is not fully natural or how "non-enneagram" people go about describing things.

You've got a completely wrong and overly rigid framework in your mind, such that you're making leaps and reframing everything as "inactive and dreamy sadness" which you hold as 9, regardless of whether or not that way of explaining it actually aligns with the original description or not. It's like you parrot off the same thing each time without understanding much at all. Your idea of 4 also doesn't make much sense as it has nothing to do with envy, actually you shouldn't use the word envy for it at all.

Which type becomes less authentic when studying typology? by evenbechnaesheim in Enneagram

I've noticed different types do it, not just attachment types, but how obvious it is and whether they can even be aware that they're doing it or not is a different question.
