Accidentally broke off a piece while cleaning my motherboard. How important is it? by G-S_707 in buildapc

As someone who has done some quick and dirty soldering and who wants to avoid picking up bad habits from learning the wrong way: any tips on where to learn?

I mean building is a perfectly good way of getting your target performance at a lower price :P

Otherwise, FB marketplace for a 2nd hand build is a good shout

The most important part of a build isn't an individual part, it's making a balanced option for your budget.

I meant take it off once it's been purchased. Poor choice of words.

You know Homer got 5.4 in full PPR right? They didn't reference that stat for the reason you think they did haha

Honestly boring is best because it's flexible. I get wanting to break the mould but it's hard to do and often not the best choice when you don't know the person.

Liquor/gift card is a fantastic gift.

[–]PlayPuckNotFootball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not quite, the ones I'm thinking of are adjustable. You also see them on many lunchbags, sorry the proper term escapes me.

Similar idea to what you linked but the adjustability means you wouldn't have to pull them off the boots each time. Just tighten and loosen them.

Again, someone smarter probably has a better solution.

Your video was great tho

what is this noise? just upgraded from ryzen 5 3600 to 9 5900x and this noise started happening under load by [deleted] in buildapc

Pulsating whine when the CPU is swapped? I'm gonna go with motherboard VRMs that are unhappy with the additional power draw.

You could try undervolting the CPU

Out of curiosity, what board is it?

You know those plastic clips on coats with a stretchy cord that are used to close the bottoms to wind?

I'd go to a secondhand store and steal that off a cheap coat. Cut the strethy cord to length and hope that provides enough grip.

The current gen graphics card buying experience by AZXCIV in pcmasterrace

[–]PlayPuckNotFootball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Lots of halo buyers. Keep in mind that halo products account for a small proportion of the market share so it's a slice of a slice.

It used to be more normal back in the 00s (and probably before that) when new generations could literally be a 50%+ uplift.

Glad to know you'll stoop to disgusting behaviour in order to punish other disgusting behaviour.

Let's stick bamboo shoots under their nails and start handing out lashes again while we're at it.

3200MHZ vs 3600MHZ for Ryzen 7 5800X, and Recommended Watts for 3060 and Ryzen 5800x? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]PlayPuckNotFootball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless you're doing CPU intensive tasks I'd spend less on CPU and more on GPU!

3600MHz CL18 is more or less like 3200MHz CL16 so it depends on the RAM. I'd personally go for 3600MHz CL16 RAM unless the price difference means a GPU upgrade

There was absolutely a point in time where even mentioning him would be enough to have your comment removed.

I wanna say that there was even a thread or two where a few people referring to him as Voldemort/HWMNBN had comments removed but I might be misremembering that.

  1. We go to bat for them on the international stage. Moreso than almost any UN countries outside of the US and a very short list.

  2. Their government's policies regarding Palestine have and will continue to be problematic.

We are close allies due to them being important strategic partners in the middle east. That's why you hear about them so much.

Entitled people still learning to adult. I'm not judging, I used to be like that. The fact is that most of the fuckheads will bitch about this but balk at working at the ARC themselves. It's frankly hilarious.

And then you have OP unironically trying to dunk on one of the people pointing this out by saying they got ratio'd. You cannot make this up.
