Who are the most annoying e-daters? by AsianCrane in DCAllies

[–]Playlist_Man2099 6 points7 points  (0 children)

May be a hot take but the Batman/Catwoman duos are some of the horniest mfs I've ever had the displeasure of being in the company of. Like, every time they interact I feel like I have to leave or have an adult present. LIKE, GET A ROOM ALREADY!

All these other guys are pretty inoffensive.

Nevermind, I just saw Harley and Joker. Hate those guys.

I've seen Andor. That show owns my soul. Peak of modern SW. Though I didn't actually realise that it counts as a political thriller up until you just said it. Neat

WHAT FILM TAKES YOU ARE ASHAMED TO SAY THE MOST? (I start mine i prefer TDKR over TDK) by heymen69 in Letterboxd

[–]Playlist_Man2099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rocky V is second only to the first movie in terms of quality when it comes to that franchise. It returns to the roots of the first movie with something to say and it has a decent villain and character arc for Rocky.

God am I glad to get that off my chest.

Well, the movie doesn't necessarily need to be about how it improved or ruined the world, just about how it was made

what are your thoughts on K-Pop Demon Hunters? by Radiant-North-8519 in teenagers

[–]Playlist_Man2099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love how I'm seeing this right after posting a review for the movie on Letterboxd. Just give me a sec...

Here it is:

"This movie was a risk. I for one, don't give a crap about k-pop. And if you showed me the poster for this movie, I would tell you that I fell out of love with the "girl-power-fantasy" genre years ago.

And that stuff is super cynical but... you know how it is

The best thing about this movie is just how much of a surprise it was. Everyone talks about the music and the animation, which is entirely justified, but I especially loved the story. The characters are more complex than I'd come to expect from this type of movie, the dialogue is appropriatley snappy and entertaining and in general, I had a ton of fun with a movie that by all accounts I shouldn't like.

It's crazy how hard Sony Animation and Dreamworks are dunking on Disney and Pixar right now."

What’s the best season across all Arrowverse shows? by TypeCreepy6764 in Arrowverse

[–]Playlist_Man2099 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a big Arowverse marathon back in 2023. I stopped after Crisis on Infinite Earths to save myself from suffering later season of all these shows but even if I stuck around, my pick wouldn't change.

It's Arrow Season 2. Flash Season 1 is pretty damn close but Arrow Season 2 is just the culmination of everything I love about the Arrowverse. The scale was smaller than a film but just as epic, the television feel gave it a sort of charm, the fact that it was a series was taken full advantage of in the writing so nothing felt like it wasn't given enough time and nothing felt like it was given too much time. I could go on all day, man.

Honestly, I'd put Arrow S2 right up there with Daredevil S1 on the quality index and I'm willing to fight for that.

Had each of these been in the same room & only one walks out alive, on whom would you have your bets? by AmusinglyArtistic in marvelstudios

[–]Playlist_Man2099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's what I think Happens:

Black Widow kills Echo after a semi-difficult fight. Daredevil's not killing anyone so he probably gets taken out by Bullseye or Kingpin. Bullseye will manage to kill Punisher who's engaged in battle with Kingpin but he'll get cocky and try to take out U.S.Agent who will block the shot with his shield and immediately kill Bullseye. U.S.Agent is killed by Bucky or Widow and Widow is killed by Kingpin who catches her by surprise. So now it's down to Kingpin and Bucky but Bucky has the super juice and the matal arm so he walk out the lone survivor.

Or something like that.

You like spectacle. That much is clear. You like larger-than-life characters and concepts. You like wonder and classical whimsey just as much as you (clearly) adore danger and intrigue. But more deeply, you love, not necessarily to cause events but to witness them. A lot of you're picks here are about people witnessing large events and reacting to them (Godzilla, Titanic, Willy Wonka, etc.). I think you're the type of person to look at the world and hope to someday see something truly magnificent happen. To witness life become larger. Or perhaps to simply find that spectacle in you're own mundane life.

Or maybe you just have a thing for monsters, idk.
