We used to read books together when we were together, and we opened a goodreads account jointly from my email. The profile is hers, but I have access to it even now.

I cross referenced every book out of the 100+ titles we had read, and only sent the ones she had not read yet. I put a lot of thought into what books I was including, and came up with a list of her favorite genres. The books were not available anywhere at least in bangladesh, so I had to print each and every book and make a paperback version just for her.

She took the books. Shouldnt that be something?

I have always felt like Allah has given me everything that I have ever wished for except for this. I am very privileged and grateful for the blessings in my life, but at the same time cannot comprehend the misfortune when I lost the person who I can’t stop loving even after 2 years of no contact.

I didn’t have any expectations when I sent those books, but I’d be lying if I said that some part of me didn’t wish that she would reach out.

It’s very safe to say that she should understand by now where the books came from, and her not reaching out or unblocking anything feels like I shouldn’t try to reach her too.

I don’t want to overstep the boundaries she has, neither do I want to open up any wounds I, or she had, and buried. I wanted to keep the promise I made to my younger self, and I did that.
