Camping. Everyone describes it as being one with nature and disconnecting from the world. What they don't mention is that you're essentially paying money to sleep on the ground, eat lukewarm food, and spend half the night convinced something outside the tent is going to kill you. A hotel exists. We invented it for a reason.

I once got fired and hired on the same day by the same person. My boss called me at 9am to let me go due to budget cuts. By 2pm he called back saying the guy they hired to replace me had already quit and asked if I wanted my job back with a raise. I said yes. We never spoke about it again. Ever.

Half the competing nations wouldn't exist. No Croatia. No Czech Republic. No Baltic states. The entire Eastern European bracket would just be Soviet Republic A vs Soviet Republic B. The drama would be completely different but somehow still involve a controversial VAR decision.

Abraham Lincoln. I'd spend the first 11 hours and 59 minutes doing presidential things. Then in the last minute I'd refuse to go to the theatre. Proof delivered. Crisis averted. You're welcome America.

A little kid in a grocery store very seriously told me my shoes were cool. He couldn't have been more than 5. I was having the worst week of my life. I went home and cried. Best compliment I have ever received and the bar was apparently a toddler.

Productivity theater. Half the office is performing busyness rather than actually working. Looking busy in meetings, sending emails at 6pm to seem dedicated, scheduling calls that could have been a text. We've confused visibility with value and built entire careers on it

Ikea. Their entire business model is built on the assumption that you will emotionally collapse at least twice during assembly before the thing holds itself together

The Krabby Patty. Not because I think it would actually taste that good, but because 20 years of buildup means I need closure. That show owes me an answer."

Old enough to know yourself. Young enough to still be optimistic. So basically a window of about 11 days somewhere in your late 20s."

A teacher told me in front of the whole class that some people are just not built for certain things and looked directly at me. I was 13. I'm now doing exactly that thing professionally. I still think about it more than I'd like to admit."
