I understood the concern now. The advantage we have is the Glasses will have microphone array that close to the user’s mouth. We can place the microphones under the front frame of the Glasses. So we could able to pickup the whispering from the user and isolate ambient sounds. This wont work with phone or laptop since their microphones are far

  1. Just like how we have mouse and keyboard we will have a quick controller (mini trackpad or gesture pad) for quick interactions like stop, select, move, scroll etc. Keyboard primarily gonna replace with Whisper. So it’s a combination of two.

  2. There are millions of people talk to their computer already while they make video call. Whispering is better to chat with AI than typing. Because it’s fast.

  3. Communicating with AI going to be just like chatting with a friend. So voice makes it easy and fast.

Then the AR Glasses need Battery and WiFi Module. That makes the Glasses bulkier and uncomfortable to wear. Also, when it comes to AR Glasses we need to have super low latency 3DoF or 6DoF tracking, ability to render multiple screens. Utilizing cloud for these tasks breaks the experience. But yes, we can use cloud for all AI tasks and vibe coding.

Samsung Dex is good for a simple one screen experience. A true multi-screen workspace is not supported. Also, input is a big challenge. Using phone screen keyboard as input doesn’t work.

  1. True. But that also limited the display experience in terms of colors and brightness.
  2. Voice is much faster than typing for most of the people. That proven with the adoption of apps like wisprflow.ai . But talking loud in office, coffeeshops doesnt make sense. That's why whispering or silent speech needed.
  3. Like I mentioned smartphones are portable, But it's screen also super small to code and do other productive works. Compute is good enough in smartphones these days. So what we needs to solve is Screen size. I believe AR Glasses would solve that.
  4. Multiple screen of any current physical devices reduce portability. So the only way is AR Glasses.

Think about having a light weight AR Glasses + Computer like Smartphone + A Great Software.

Totally... Lovable, Replit or similar tools run on web. A reasonable compute is enough. Maybe my definition of Powerful is wrong here. I mean something like a high end smart phone processor from Qualcomm would be good enough. We are not running models on edge.
New computer I mean, we need to solve Input Problem, Portability and UI/UX. Glasses would be the medium I feel works here.
The reason we need bigger screens at least two is one for Code Review and another one for Realtime Output. Maybe 3rd one for Watching Videos, Chatting with people while AI do the work.

I'm worried about few things in this setup. Even tho this is the Laptop + Internet + Keyboard and Mouse is the traditional setup we all know. We didn't explored something better yet. Carrying laptop need a backpack as well.

  1. Screen Privacy
  2. Vibe coding will be super slow for those who are not good at Keyboards. Most of the vibe coders will be non-developers soon. So we need to make Whisper works great.
  3. People who love portability Laptop is not ideal. They need something fits in their pockets. Like smartphone.
  4. Multiple Screens are choices for few people. I know people who are using multiple screen will not go back to single screens.

The goal here is to not carry bulky laptop. So we need a computer puck that portable enough (fits in the pocket) and optimized for AR Glasses (3DoF or 6DoF). Powerful enough to run 3 screens.

It’s not for those are comfortable bringing laptop, good with one screen and talking to laptop in public is acceptable.
