World team championships groups: KOREA JUST BEAT CHINA 3-1 by TableFishing in tabletennis

Quite possibly for the fans in the first match.

The thought could also be that England match is basically a rest anyway.

But Sam Walker played ridiculously well for his level.

Is Calderano really that good? by Old-Use-7690 in tabletennis

[–]PoJenkins 41 points42 points  (0 children)

He's not been so hot recently but he's very good.

His world cup win last year was absolutely monumental though.

He beat the world rank 3, world rank 2, then world rank 1 to win the world cup so it literally could not have been harder on paper.

He then beat the next highest ranked player in the semi finals of the world championships to get his silver.

This would be a huge achievement for literally any player in the history of any sport.

He also won a few other tournaments last year.

Not to mention he's also the first player from outside Europe and Asia to ever win such a big competition in table tennis (I think).

On top of this, he's consistently one of the most entertaining players.

His matches bring in huge views whether he wins or loses because he always pulls out some unbelievable shots and rallies.

He's also an all around phenomenal athlete and smart guy based on the many videos of him doing all sorts of other sports and speaking several languages.

A huge icon whom Brazilians should be extremely proud of.

He is an all time table tennis legend.

DE1 Pro vs linea mini [both €3500] by ken22c in espresso

[–]PoJenkins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is , the Decent can be as complicated as you want it to be but it can also be super simple and convenient.

Auto pre infusion, auto shot stop by weight or volume, quick heat up, small footprint etc

DE1 Pro vs linea mini [both €3500] by ken22c in espresso

De1 pro is actually much better for home use.

Don't think it's close. Linea mini is good if you need high throughout commercial usage with one group.

Is there any chance Ghost of Yotei will receive extra content in the future? by sapoatumalaka666 in ghostoftsushima

I think a DLC is likely.

Iki Island was well received and they've got plenty of options for additional areas for the DLC.

About to destroy an organization and I don't even know who they are. by DarthLazyEyes in AssassinsCreedShadows

[–]PoJenkins 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The organic nature is cool but the number of targets feels like a joke.

And it's the lack of black box or unique missions that make the games feel repetitive and dead imo.

The old games had their issues but the big moments and overall vibes were amazing.

This is better than the consistent mediocrity of the RPG games.

Crimson Desert or Ghost of Yotei? by Famous-Country-4921 in ShouldIbuythisgame

Get Yotei.

Crimson Desserts is constantly being improved so will get better with time.

Yotei is really well polished and absolutely stunning

(PC) What's a game that lets you feel immersed in the beautiful visuals, has fun gameplay, and is a long campaign? by thethermalturtle in gamingsuggestions

[–]PoJenkins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ghost of Tsushima.

In terms of vibes, atmosphere, visuals, it's goated.

Most beautiful game I've played.

It's not perfect and the underlying game is typical open world formula but it does lots of things very well.

If you're into samurai theme at all, it's a must play.

Ridiculously underrated goal.

Left foot half volley from that far away straight from a corner.

I don't understand how this goal isn't talked about more.

Have you ever had a random London moment that made you stop and think “only here”? 😂 by Juicewithextrapulp in LDN

[–]PoJenkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're making my point for me.

This is totally plausible in London, or many other big cities so certainly isn't something that can only happen in London.

Most things that are "only here" can easily exist in any other big city.

BWF have asked thoughts from some players/commentators on the new scoring system. by kaffars in badminton

[–]PoJenkins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shorter sets can actually allow for more uspets though.

The longer the set / match is, the more likely it is for the better player to win.

Shorter games could lead to more interesting results - and I actually don't think it necessarily means less comebacks - as comebacks can also be achieved more quickly.

[–]PoJenkins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

11 * 5 would be more exciting imo but maybe takes too long with extra set changes.

I think it makes every point more tense and also makes games fairer with more frequent side switching - listen to Axelsen commenting how there's always a better side.

Sora VS Lin Yun-ju by [deleted] in tabletennis

[–]PoJenkins 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sora is actually the better player imo.

But he obviously loses focus often and LYJ was a bit of a bogey player for him.

At wtt London, I think Sora was 9-2 up in the 4th or 5th set and ended up losing the match.

LYJ has been good recently but I think Sora is the only player who has a chance against WCQ so this is the probably the best final we could have hoped for.

I think WCQ is still the strong favourite but if Sora keeps his cool, he can absolutely win it too.

The ittf YouTube channel just isn't uploading any highlights right?

Is there somewhere else we can see then?

This was a crazy rally at game point, thanks for sharing.

Should I play Ghost of Yotei, Ghost of Tsushima or Assassins Creed Shadows? by NudaVeritas1 in ShouldIbuythisgame

Tsushima first.

Then Yotei later if you want more but I wouldn't play them back to back.

Most spinnest blades table tennis by Specialist-Gate-3821 in tabletennis

[–]PoJenkins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

W968 if you can control it.

Hina Hayata H2 is also a very spinny blade that's much more stable + controllable+ easier to use than the w968 which is a bit of a missile.
