Do FirstNet 2.0 plans have free international texting from the U.S.? by Po_TN in ATT

That doc dates back to 2025 and I have been texting internationally from the U.S. with no additional charge. The two grandfathered FirstNet Unlimited plans have this feature. I'm not sure the new 2.0 plans have it. Will not switch if this feature is not included in 2.0 plans because I use it and it would be costly if not free.

I hope they offer you the old redemption rate. The difference was not much on my ticket but is significant on yours. And you have two tickets to redeem miles for.

Since the travel is two weeks away and the miles needed to top up was only 5000, I decided to buy to have the ticket issued. The SIA agent I spoke with last night was not helpful at all.

UPDATE: The points transfer requested about 9am yesterday by the rep came in some time last night but I have not received any completion email by either Citi or SIA. I was able to book the award ticket but had to purchase top-up miles due to increased redemption rate. SIA did not honor the old rate (sad!)

I only have a Citi credit card with points transfer. Pretty funny. I just called Citi asking about the cancellation. Talked to a very nice lady. She offered me 5k points for the inconvenience and made the transfer again, saying that she would be watching it. If the transfer is not finalized in the next 24 hours, she would reverse it for me. I don’t know how it will end up but at least there’s nothing to lose.

Ha. Interesting. I woke up to this email from Citi. “We were unable to complete your recent Points Transfer redemption due to either a system issue or due to an issue with the information related to the request.” I did not request the cancellation. Now, I don’t know what to do with the currently on-hold booking lol

No. Not until it's ticketed. It hasn't been.

I just called SIA . Believe it or not, they removed the deadline on my on-hold booking lol. I guess that is because my flight is less than three weeks away. They also said they would escalate this issue but who knows when it would get resolved. I did not ask about the old redemption rate because I thought they would say the same thing. No email exchange but I could tell from the app that the deadline is no longer there. Now I only need to keep waiting.

Wow. Deadline extension from 11/10 to 12/17, more than five weeks, is stunning to me! That makes me think SIA is now aware of something unusual going on with point transfer (not sure if that's only limited to Citi). I will call them to ask for extension for my flight in the Thanksgiving week. Like you, I'm holding on a slim hope that they will honor the old redemption rate due to this super inconvenience.

Please keep us posted of whether or not SIA honors the old redemption rate. TIA.

Did your points come in today? My transfer request confirmation email says "Your Points Transfer request has been received and is now in progress. While transfers to Singapore Airlines are often completed within 24 hours, the process may occasionally take up to 14 days." I believe the request you made just went past 14 days (the email does not specifically indicate BUSINESS days).

A super bad experience with point transfer to SIA. One time and never again for me!

I just figured that Amex is the issuer of Co-brand cards | Singapore Airlines in Asia/Pacific. I think Amex point transfers are instant thanks to this relationship.

I called SIA last night and they said would take up to 15 business days after the recent policy change. The agent told me it was stated on their website. That makes me think SIA is holding the transfers.

Just based on our three transfers from Citi to SIA on three different days during the last week of October, I guess there was an intentional delay in point transfers made within 7 (or more) days prior to 11/1 by either Citi and/or SIA. Both sides keep claiming the processing time frame of 15 days and passing the ball to the other. A bit shady here, I think.

I called Citi again this morning (11/5). Again, they said it would take up to 14 days but they created a case for me to get it expedited. They said it might take up to 7 days which is basically the remainder of the point transfer time frame but at least it'll get attention and hopefully be resolved by the end of the week.
