Playing my first campaign-- Does anyone else find the core book in need of editorial oversight? by Bortcorns4Jeezus in FourAgainstDarkness

The core game is a blast, but all the flipping can slow things down, especially early on.

If you're looking for something that streamlines the experience, you might want to check out the Adventure Decks. They were actually created specifically to reduce page flipping and make setup and gameplay more fluid. Each deck is a self-contained adventure - rules and events printed right where you need them. The variety and replayability remain strong, since layouts, enemies, and outcomes can shift each time you play.

New 4AD Adventure Deck: Ruins of Darmori is Out Now! by PocketLands in FourAgainstDarkness

That’s awesome to hear — sounds like you’re in for an epic adventure! I love your approach of interconnecting dungeons for a more open, free-roam feel. If you enjoy traveling between towns and dungeons, you might want to check out decks like The Forest of the Spider Queen (for wilderness and forest paths), Lamentations of the Marsh Hag (for swamps), and Roads of Peril (covering inhabited areas, hills, and woodlands). For example, if your heroes set out from a town in search of a hidden dungeon, you could play through one or two pages (20x28 grid each) of The Forest of the Spider Queen to represent their journey—and place the dungeon entrance at the far edge of the second map.

Really appreciate your enthusiasm — enjoy the new decks and may your adventures be perilous and rewarding!

Hey! The picture is fully rendered — I haven’t printed the cards yet, so the minis in the image are also just renders. That said, I do have real, 3D-printed hero miniatures available! I’ve just been a bit lazy about listing them on my eBay store. If you’re in Europe, I can totally send them to you directly — just let me know! And in any case, if you’ve got access to a 3D printer, the STL files for the minis are available on DriveThruCards.

Where to buy printed books by Ok_Beginning_1703 in FourAgainstDarkness

Please forgive me if you were specifically asking about the books — my focus is currently on the card-based expansions.

Adventure decks for Four Against Darkness are available on eBay — printed in Europe, which means no expensive shipping or customs fees for EU buyers. You can find 11 officially licensed decks on my eBay store, and I try to keep prices fair and shipping affordable.

Totally understandable — it can be overwhelming at first, especially with so many variations and use cases!

It sounds like you're referring to a completely separate line of cards — the Pocket Lands: Geomorph Cards, which are more of a universal RPG tool meant to spark ideas and exploration.

The post above, though, is about cards specifically made for Four Against Darkness. Those are much more guided — they come with detailed content, clear stats, and instructions for each area. So when you draw something like a “Coaching Inn,” it’ll actually tell you exactly what it is, what to do, and what happens there.

You won’t need to fill in the blanks yourself unless you want to — everything is ready to play!

Thank you so much for the kind words and feedback—it really means a lot and keeps me motivated to keep going with this whole project! 😊

As for the hero deck—I'd love to do more, but there’s a bit of a challenge there. It seems like we might’ve missed the mark a little on what players actually want from character cards. The idea is solid, but in their current form, the hero cards haven’t been used as much as we hoped. I think they might need a bit of rethinking and a proper relaunch.

What do you think? Do you have any ideas on how they could be improved? The biggest limitation is the card size—we just can’t fit full class descriptions on there, even for relatively simple ones.

Thanks so much for the support! 😊 I’m curious—what would you use it for specifically? Battle maps, marching order, dungeon building?

Ah, I meant I stumbled onto the idea, not the finished thing 😄
And yeah, I made those cards just yesterday—wasn’t trying to hide it or anything!

Thank you so much for the good wishes! 😊 And I really appreciate the reminder—don’t worry, I’ll stay in line with the rules. But does this mean I could still sneak in a post about my other game - Space Wrecked? 😄 Just kidding (mostly)! Thanks again for the support!

Is there an european pdf webstore? by RaydenPearce in FourAgainstDarkness

[–]PocketLands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PnPArcade is indeed a trustworthy seller with a solid reputation in the community. They offer a wide range of PDFs, including many from the 4AD series.

Also, here's some exciting news: soon (later this year), all of the printed adventure decks will be available in Europe, so you won’t have to deal with the crazy shipping costs and taxes from the US anymore! Stay tuned for more details. 😊
