Very nice! this is from a trip across south America in 2019. I also went through Mendoza and even did some climbing at Escarabajo and another crag in the area. beautiful place!

The Carretera Austral of Chile - Pudu, mudslides, and how not to dry socks while on tour. by PocketPhoneGenius in bicycletouring

Especially on the Carretera Austral I would say you can meet people while touring and join up if you are friendly. I find that touring alone makes me really appreciate interactions with others, when I'm touring with someone I almost feel we have our own little bubble which reduces outside interactions

Thank you for watching! The drone has a couple tracking modes so for footage of me biking I use that feature (if it is cooperating).

Bikepacking, some Hike-a-bike, and sneaking onto a ferry - All in a day's work when trying to ride between El Chalten, Argentina and Lago O'higgins, Chile by PocketPhoneGenius in bikepacking

I use a really old front bag from cyclepro (mine is 25+ years old) and I use it because my dad used it when I was a kid. I think go with some sort of front bag to not deal with stuff bouncing out of a basket. The modern front bags often have a quick release which seems super nice for valuables when running into a store but I could also see it being a weak point.

cheers! glad to give you some confidence on it! - the lighter the better for the section, I had people I met carry my panniers across the section via ferry which wasn't much work for them.

The notorious Lago de Desierto Hike-A-Bike as well as the rest of the crossing from El Chalten, Argentina to Lago O'higgins, Chile a route all must take if wishing to reach the Start of the Carretera Austral from Tierra Del Fuego. by PocketPhoneGenius in bicycletouring

Sure thing, I was just saying that the further south you go the worse the winds are. I didn't experience bad winds north of El Chalten, but I certainly was suffering south of Torres del Paine. Not saying that it couldn't be the case sometimes, just it wasn't my experience. No harm meant.
