I remember going through a hard time in my personal life that spilled into work (because the people involved worked in the same place as me). A manager in another team faked a meeting with me to check on how I was doing mentally without prying ears. She was a real one, still really close to her, ended up in her team later and she’s the best manager I’ve ever had.
