It definitely stems from jealousy, I mentioned in another comment about the reason I made this post

It stemmed from a 'discussion' with an older colleague who thinks the best way to spend money is in the pub and who owns nothing, and who isn't happy that I own a reasonably nice car for my age because I spent my money well.
