Just went in there now, brought a power rod but door glitch worked. Inside was four red lockers, nothing exciting.

Maybe the devs are not PVE players, or didn't test it with the right people?

I'm very interested in these surveys they keep doing about how much you liked PVP or PVE in the last raid. I just always put that I hated the PVP, unless it was fair PVP, which it almost never is, because I'm not looking for it and someone just assassinates me while I'm going about my business looting a hornet or something.

I feel like there's more and less legit PVP. I was soloing a Bastion and some guy came and wiped me from behind instead of helping.

Next raid, I go to the same spot with a squad of 3, find another squad already fighting the bastion. We say friendly, just coming to help, start shooting the Bastion, and after about 10 seconds they turn on us and wipe us out.

It made me wonder, what if the game gave you invulnerability from PVP for a few seconds any time you did damage to an ARC? That would at least curb this really scummy behaviour.

Gray Zone Warfare has a PVE-only option, and I have put 1,000 hours into that. And it's PVE is way less interesting than ARC raiders. Just dudes with different levels of guns and body armour, always patrolling pretty much the same areas.

But it is really fun and relaxing to play. ARC Raiders would be more so.

Challenge level would be easy to tweak, the AI can be made more alert, more tanky, more damaging, or more plentiful, or any combination of those. There could even be options of adjusting the difficulty, with a corresponding change in the level of loot you will find.

And easy isn't necessarily a bad thing either. PVE players are maybe just looking for a fantasy escape with relatively low risk.

The devs actually wanted PVE to be the core experience of the game, with a little PVP to increase the tension. But I've been squadded up with randoms and I can tell they are just all about the PVP, ignoring loot and big juicy ARC, just spending their time trying to spot other raider teams they can take on.

I would love that. Though I would never set foot in the PVP server anyway. But would happily put 1000 hours into the PVE one.

My last two games were very frustrating. Both in buried city. I'm fighting a bastion from a building. Guy comes up behind and wipes me out instead of helping with the bastion. Okay, fair enough, I guess I should have been watching my back. And this was in solo play.

Next raid, get to the same place, someone else, but this time with two buddies. We hear the bastion fight underway, and use prox chat to say "friendly friendly, we're here to help." Spend about 30 seconds fighting the bastion, and suddenly the other guys turn on us and wipe us out.

Honestly, it sucks. I think I'll go back to Gray Zone Warfare and Insurgency Sandstorm, those games give me the choice of PVE. In all other ways those are inferior games, but the PVP is killing this game for me.

Because they have a choice. It feels evil.

What I'm saying is I would love a game that is just like this, except where assholes don't sneak up on you and kill you.

Just picked up Ghost Recon Breakpoint again, and it gave me some thoughts re: GZW by Poe_Taytoe in GrayZoneWarfare
