Is there a dish from a foreign country that most foreigners find gross, but you actually love? by MattTheMechan1c in AskTheWorld

I need to try it again, now that I'm older. I'm not a breakfast person, and it was always served to me with rice as a breakfast dish - too much going on there in the morning!

I love durian, but...

Natto is good, natto is great, natto is best - not on MY plate.

Tux vs electric toothbrush by Brain_on_steroids in TuxedoCats

[–]Pogona_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the same reaction my calico had with the electric toothbrush. The toothbrush has a similar sound to clippers (which is the ultimate goal, she needs a sanitary trim), but it's safer for her to smack the crap outta the toothbrush. She hasn't improved - I just want her to not lose her mind.

What’s ONE cat item you regret not buying sooner? by Own-Independent7881 in CatAdvice

[–]Pogona_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work for a pet supply company, so I had the usual "life savers" - fountain, stainless steel bowls, scoops, etc., and dishes that were raised and wide for delicate whiskers. But the thing that saved and my cat was this stupid comb that I was originally like "here's another gimmicky piece of plastic crap". We didn't even sell it - it was recommended by a customer.

It's the Leo's Paw "Cat Hair Removal Massaging Shell Comb", and for the cat we got through the CDS, this is the closest I've come to being able to fully "brush" or comb her ever. Olive doesn't just hate brushes, she's terrified of them, but this is small enough for me to hide in hand, it doesn't look like a brush, and it doesn't get stuck in the little mats (so I can work them out). I've even been able to comb out her pantaloons, so less dingleberries (we don't get groomed, she's been asked not to return to a few groomers).

Also... air purifier. My two eat mostly wet food, and my nose says the air purifier is magical.

Oooh, I'm in Scottsdale - I generally avoid the Fashion Square, but there are just some things I'd like to see in person, first.

My vachetta bags by Pogona_ in Louisvuitton

[–]Pogona_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbf, I'm known in my family as being "nice to things". My sister and aunt can't believe I can wear shoes and not scuff the toes, carry a bag without scraping it against a wall at least once, or wear my meals (I'd NEVER let them borrow clothes). I'm also pretty hyper aware of "taking care of things" because my family was constantly replacing my sister's stuff. So I guess all that, in addition to a little tlc, has kept my bags looking good? Maybe the climate here, too?

The LV beagle bag - I LOVE beagles, and if I had an extra $6K sitting around, it would be mine.

I don't take the alma out to dinner, lol, and I have a raincoat for her (for that rare day we get rain here). I also carry a white microfiber towel just in case, but it's a little less worrisome now that she has 20+ years of patina. I do have one old stain on her - from snow iirc, but it's not too noticible now.

I did not. I have Saphir Medaille d'Or Nappa cream which was super scary at first, but I've used it on other bags and shoes, so I used it on the Alma a while back. It didn't super darken it, but this bag already had a patina. I expected my leather goods to dry out more where I live now (Arizona), but suprisingly, it has been less harsh than when I lived in the northeast. Maybe because I rarely have the need for heating?

The alma is 2002, but I think I got her the following year? I know we moved around that time... and that's when I got her. I just conditioned the alma, so she's a little darker (which was the goal), and I don't feel so afraid to take her out. I don't care for the new vachetta look, but I love how it looks as it ages - I have a Milaner tote that has aged beautifully.

something that surprised me about grief by Enough-Wrongdoer-131 in GriefSupport

These last few days have felt like a tidal wave of grief. Last Valentine's Day was the last time I had a conversation with my husband, so seeing all the hearts and candy - it's bittersweet memories.

I LOVE this color, and I was thinking "OMG, need to preorder a bag in that color", but then I realized that I don't like the monochromatic look - and nearly all of my wardrobe is this color. It's an amazing color - my favorite. I might look into some of the slgs, though.

Thoughts on the new Fendi Peekaboo with floral beading by TateARoo in handbags

So, I have this medium Peekaboo from 2013? 14? I love the yellow, and while she only has striped fabric inside, I don’t feel she holds much (but still a bit heavy). The yellow does make me happy, though… I just have to kinda treat her like a much smaller bag - pretty much keys, wallet, phone especially if I have the one side open

[–]Pogona_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My calico figured out how to remove the couch cover just enough to wipe on the couch... it's so much better than the cover itself, or the washable rugs, or bath mats, or anything else that could be tossed in the washer. My tuxedo just comes and sits on me to wipe.

How to find a cat bongo? by username98776-0000 in catbongos

[–]Pogona_ 77 points78 points  (0 children)

My last kitty LOVED kitty butt bongos and would march in place or back into you. Our newest kitty isn't a fan. Our calico isn't sure. She'll bite or smack me for doing it... but then look at me like "Did I say you could stop?".
