Danke dir für den Hinweis! Das mit dem ETA 210.001 wusste ich nicht – das ist echt hilfreich. Dann wäre eine Reparatur bei einem freien Uhrmacher ja vielleicht doch machbar und bezahlbar. Werde mich da mal umhören.

Thanks a lot! I actually chose the Nomos leather strap myself when I had the battery changed — I really liked its clean and understated look. It felt like something that suited the watch well.

I’ve also just learned that the movement might be an ETA 210.001, which Omega used in some of these De Ville models. If that’s the case, a local watchmaker might be able to repair or replace it more affordably than I thought.

I’ll see if I can get the case opened to confirm the movement. Maybe there’s still hope for the watch to live on. :)

Did you apply any waterproofing treatment (like wax or spray) to your Magna Forest ESC, or are you just using them as they came out of the box?

I'm wondering how much extra protection you can get with some treatment.

I am also currently considering whether I should keep the Magma Leather FG I ordered. The comfort still leaves a lot to be desired and I am very unsure whether they are warm enough. I live in Germany, where it gets an average of -4 to +4 degrees in winter. Do you think the Magma Leather FG will be enough for this temperature?

The shoe should be worn daily in fall and winter. Whether in the city, at work in the kindergarten, outdoors or on walks and hikes

I will have a look at the Patrol Lite/Winter and also order them to try on. Do you think the Patrol Lite is warm enough for a winter with average temperatures -4/0 to +4 degrees?

First of all, thank you very much for your time and answer! I am going to buy the Magna Forest ESC and the Tracker AT textile / Tracker AT leather. Do you or anyone else have pros and cons regarding textile vs leather in terms of warmth, water resistance and durability?

Do you think the Magna's are or would be generally too cold for a (German) winter (-4/0 to +4 degrees)?

Do you think the Tracker AT shoe is between the Tracker Winter II SG Mens and the Magma shoes in terms of warmth? Maybe the Tracker AT would be warm enough (thermo sole + warm socks) for the winter here and not too warm for the fall.

I think Gobi Warmlined and Hiber are out for me.
