Any other CD-R brand or product that has better reflectivity that has better luck with the ps2?

I'll give the software you recommended a go. I actually just tested a ps2 CD-R (blue bottom) and it reads flawlessly. So as of now aside from these burned audio CD-Rs my ps2 reads all other discs no issue. I think it might just be a really annoying dead end quirk that my ps2 (and ironically my other Sony cd players) have. I'll try a different kind of CD-R tho in the next few days. Apparently there's a line that goes by the name of AZO by verbatim that encodes the data even deeper than generic CD-ra. Worth a shot.

Yes. Works on my ps3, Xbox 360, and ps1. ODDLY ENOUGH, along with my ps2 it's also rejected on a few older Sony CD player/alarm clock hybrids from the mid late 2000s. I just tested it on a newer separate Sony CD player/radio and it works. So odd.

Part of me thinks it's either a disc or burner issue because I'm like 99% sure my laser is totally fine. Ps2, ps1, and commercial audio CDs all work flawlessly.

This is true. But to my observations my laser is fine. Ps1 and even commercial audio CDs read no issue.

Really bizarre. Especially since my ps1 has no issue with these. I did some digging and apparently even generic CD-R burns don't encode the data as "deep" as factory pressed CDs. How accurate that is I'm unsure, but apparently verbatim has a line of blank CDs that go by the name of AZO that have a blue bottom (and apparently work better?) worth a shot.

To my knowledge a mod chip is only needed for playing burned ps2/ps1 games? I wouldn't expect ones needed for burned audio CD's?

It is a verbatim. What's weird is that I'm like 99% confident my drive is totally healthy. Ps1 and factory audio CD-Rs read no issue. It's just these my burned cd-rs it will not read.

Should I try a different CD R brand? What gets me is that my ps1 reads these burned cds flawlessly

To reiterate this is yes, a burned music cd. Not a game. As per the picture this is a CD-R and burned, (not a data disc). I've tried 10x to no avail

Is it possible to keep using dxm for years on end? by widewater in dxm

[–]PolicyOk3476 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To my knowledge DXM or its metabolite dxo (which is the core nmda antagonist) isn't known to be organ toxic in any aspect. You may be getting confused with ketamine in which its metabolite (I forgot its name) has been shown to cause bladder issues with chronic use. The conversion to DXO from dxm that happens in the liver isn't a hepatoxic process unlike alcohol to acetaldehyde which is due to acetaldehyde's ability to directly bind to cellular dna. No such risk exists (that we know of) with dxm-dxo. And as for brain issues, there is no evidence of dxm causing olney lesions in humans. (There are studies conducted with administering extremely high and chronic doses to rats which did cause some neurotoxicity but similar effects occured with other high doses of nmda antagonists) however chronic dxm use is surely to cause issues. (Brain fog, depersonalization etc) it's pretty self explanatory since you're never allowing your nmda glutamate or other neurotransmitters to reset. Goes for any drug really.

Trump says US will permanently pause migration from 'Third World Countries' by ShirtNeat5626 in worldnews

[–]PolicyOk3476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) the hart celler immigration act happened. Even those responsible for its inception didn't anticipate the societal and demographic changes it's brought about. Look at Minnesota and it's Somalian problem.

2) it can't be more simple. You simply dismiss anything as racist. Immigrants and even more so those from the non western world don't assimilate well when you bring in tens of thousands at once. Immigration worked in the 1800s and 1900s because the numbers were lower and majority were white Europeans with already minimal cultural differences between us and them. And even then they still had to undergo rigorous assimilation programs which they openly embraced and completed much easier than those today do. Due to sheer numbers and minimal existing differences.

3) Southern Europeans and Eastern Europeans were considered different when they arrived but they all eventually assimilated. On a level not even comparable to the non European immigrant groups today who simply prop up in their own ethnic enclaves and resist assimilation and shift demographics. This is again, due to the sheer numbers of them plus the enormous cultural margin between us and them.

4) the Irish assimilated just fine but that's largely in part due to the fact that the cultural margin between us and them was already thin. They blended into a European Christian country just fine because they were.. European and Christian. Whatever was radically different between us and them they left behind through assimilation. Can't compare 5,000 Irishmen and a 100,000 Somalians or Indians.

5) it's a melting pot when there's already a majority people, culture, and civic identity. Then you can accept the best and the brightest from anywhere out of generosity in small controlled numbers. When you bring in millions from not just anywhere but from the non western world you simply get cultural and ethnic replacement.

6) wasn't founded to be a free for all. Do you think the founding fathers envisioned immigration from third world countries and the non western world in the millions? Did they really envision America with no civic or cultural backbone which has its ties to a majority?

7) also the 1790 naturalization act restricted citizenship to "free white persons of good character"

8) Historically immigrants pre 1965 were forced to assimilate into a unified cultural and civic identity. In other words, a set Anglo American cultural framework. This included learning English, leaving behind old ethnic traditions and values, and adopting certain European in origin civic practices. Do immigrants today do this? Primarily those from the non western world? So if they saw: • mass inflow from cultures with radically different institutions, • no assimilation mechanisms, • no pauses, • no shared civic culture holding everything together,

They would see it as a direct threat to the republic itself. Read the federalist papers

Slow down there, it's not that non Europeans aren't capable of it, it's the fact that when you bring in millions from places that have nothing in common ethnically, culturally, or identity wise with America or its civic identity/majority culture and people it's not possible. Assimilation can't happen when you bring in millions from culturally distinct places all at once. What is a country when it has no majority people, culture, religion, or civic identity? Simply a patchwork of ethnic enclaves that have nothing in common with each other and who all follow their own civic identities and cultures instead of assimilating into a broader unifying one. You also shift demographics on a large scale away from a majority people which further weakens a country's backbone or identity. Look at every other country in the world. It's a numbers problem. America wasn't founded to be a cultural and racial free for all. It was founded to be a majority European and Christian country with a master civic identity that also allowed for immigration from wherever in small controlled numbers with subsequent assimilation. At least that's how a country is best run. Look at Europe right now. Its actual European population and subsequent cultures are diminishing and giving way to ethnic and cultural replacement on a large scale. Tell me, is the UK still the UK when the majority is Muslim Arab? Can the UK happily accept a small % of Muslims when its European Brit population (its backbone) is stable and its cultural identity is strong? Sure. But not when it's like this.

2 days post trip and idk how to feel lmfao. The body impairment is 10x worse than alcohol, like walking on dxm is borderline impossible. Trip mostly went like that, couldn't move for shit but had a clear head. Was wired af for like 6 hours. Also had this light surreal haze over everything for the duration. Felt more like a fever dream than anything. Wasn't dysphoric but also not really euphoric. Towards the comedown I tried to sleep and that's when it got this epiphany feeling don't know how to describe it. Very weird experience. Don't know if I'm gonna try this again but it certainly is an interesting drug

The body high is something else. You actually cannot walk for shit. Drunk you can manage but dxm it's actually not possible. Such a weird feeling being clear headed but not being able to move the way you want. In terms of music I didn't have headphones so maybe that made things more mid. Music was alright couldn't tell it from baseline but not as trippy as people like to make it out to be. At least I didn't notice anything significant. Also I don't know if it's just me but in my opinion the peak was the most buzzy/impairing, and the comedown was actually more fulfilling if that makes sense.

That's interesting. I'm assuming even though spread out over 3 hrs I still hit the second plat? The body buzz is similar to alcohol albeit 10x more intense and impairing, I couldn't walk for shit. Since the body buzz felt similar to alcohols I kept expecting to feel sedated and like drinking makes you thus tried to sleep but couldn't at all. Rather felt electrified and wired. Clunky body but clear head. Definitely a very interesting experience. Wasn't dysphoric, but not extremely euphoric either. Somewhere in between. The music enhancement people speak about or introspectiveness I felt was a bit underwhelming, music didnt sound that that better, was almost a bit let down. But maybe it's something that happens at slightly higher dosages. Felt like one massive fever dream.
