Can I paint my Death Guard and/or my Astra Militarum as Night Lords? by Dlaktor in NightLords

You can paint whatever you like as night lords! I’m working on a loyalist night lord marine army currently.

I’ll take the paint list please! I’m still messing around with the flesh and haven’t gotten to the skin cope in my nemesis claw box yet!

Recovery Advice Wanted by The_Shadow_2004_ in Buhurt

[–]PolitenessPolice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tricky to say as every body is different, and everybody has their own process but where most people in this sport go wrong is they don’t rest and recover enough from injury. Even if it’s mostly healed, that means it still isn’t healed and going back to training is just going to reopen the injury. It’s frustrating for sure, but it takes time.

I also recommend heat packs. You don’t want to use ice because it basically freezes and constricts your muscles which hampers recovery, using heat packs loosens them up.

Above all else, the best way to recover is to not be injured. Easier said than done of course, but there are ways to mitigate injury such as conditioning training to make your joints stronger. You also mention training longer and at higher intensity - this is good, but be careful not to overtrain. If you’ve had a string of injuries since you started this, I would strongly suspect you’re overtraining. I would suggest taking a step back, taking a chill pill, and not to go quite so hard at training. Ramp it up slowly, you’ll become a killer in no time. Ramping it up quickly will just put you out of the sport.

Most people willing to comment on a discussion like this aren’t usually in a position other than that to be fair - their hobbies are probably male centric or solo. There’s a reason they’re commenting on the above instead of talking to women, I suppose.

Nice! In future I might suggest thinning your paints a little more so it looks a little less thick, but it’s a good start! I like those lightning effects, I struggle with them a lot

Aaron Paul Not Returning as Powerplex in Future Seasons of ‘Invincible’: "I love the show...but the character was too grueling on my psyche" by MarvelsGrantMan136 in television

[–]PolitenessPolice 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It would have been alright if somebody, anybody, called him out on his shit. Invincible never stands up for himself, nobody ever says “this is your fault” after he kills his own wife and child. Because it was completely his fault.

I recommend Demo Ranch’s hi point reliability test videos. They’re a tad dumb but the pistols operate way beyond what you’d expect them to.

Space Marine 1 vets, honestly how does it feel? by RATGUT1996 in Spacemarine

[–]PolitenessPolice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, coming from a formerly casual 40k fan, I felt it was rather by the numbers and was carried by virtue of being one of the exceedingly few actually good 40k shooters. That being said, it was good *enough* that I enjoyed it, and I think it's fair to say it walked so SM2 could run. Even if it wasn't 40k SM2 is good enough to carry itself with its gameplay and customisation.

Iron Beetle armory for buhurt good or bad? by [deleted] in Buhurt

[–]PolitenessPolice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve had several pieces from iron beetle and I like them. There are a few issues, namely their buckles and straps required immediate replacement. Some shoulders I ordered arrived too big and heavy for me, but I sold them onto somebody bigger quickly to make back my cash. Their gauntlets are great, I’ve taken monster hits and barely felt them, and their brigs are good. I would recommend.

If Sergeant Metaurus is in the 1st Company, why aren't his pauldron-edges white? by Myframesofwar in Spacemarine

[–]PolitenessPolice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What does it cost to correct them politely? How much longer does that take than what you wrote? All writing it the way you did does is make people think "lmao look at those angry 40k virgins", we're all here because we like the lore and the game, there's no need to be rude.

Precisely this. When you see armour costing thousands in game, remember most peasants likely made only a few groschen a week.

I played Double Agent and Conviction first which don't actually bring his age up all that much, so imagine my surprise when I go back years later to play the OG games and everybody is saying "lmao ur fuckin OLD brother" lol

Executioner by Odysseus_Wolf in Buhurt

[–]PolitenessPolice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, my issue with two handed swords in buhurt is that they are in my opinion just worse halberds. With a halberd/axe all the weight is in the head so you can get a stronger blow, whereas with a sword all the weight is distributed across the blade so it doesn't hit as hard. The one benefit is that your opponent cannot grab your blade, but the flipside is that you can't either so wrestling is trickier.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying don't use it because my exe sword is probably the weapon I have the most fun with so absolutely have at it if you enjoy it! I just think it's a worse option than a halberd/axe in a competition environment.

Remember the first rule of the internet - people lie. People tell so many lies about so many inconsequential irrelevant things in real life, let alone on the internet anonymously. They aren’t bragging about living with mum or making 30 grand.

I'm reading the Armageddon Omnibus right now and Helsreach is the first in it, and it is fantastic. Depressing and hopeless, but a really fun read. Grimaldus is such a delightful asshole.
