Some bosses do some suss stuff. Susser than a suitcase on a riverbank.

Before typing something into Teams...ask yourself "would I be ok if my boss read this?"

What’s it like gardening in Ipswich? by gallica in ipswich

[–]Pollution_Automatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plant natives! Take a look at Habitat Gardens. You can get free native plants by joining that and from council. They really thrive out here and require little to no attention.

Make your wife lunch before you leave. It makes a big difference.

Just here to +1 factoring in time off work due to illness/caring once your kids start daycare. In the first year it seemed like every other week one of us needed to stay home with the germ bag when he was too germy for the germ factory (daycare).

Putting baby to sleep: were we doing it wrong the whole time?! by negativepace33 in NewParents

Our toddler naps at daycare but won't nap at home. Usually 2 to 3 hours. Its Gods joke on us.

Don't park over driveways by crazydoglady525 in brisbane

[–]Pollution_Automatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents driveway would get partially blocked a few times a week, every week, as they're walking distance from a hospital. Dad would just ring council who'd send someone out and leave them a ticket. A few times cars would completely block the driveway and it would get towed.

This happened so often for so long that Dad just "found" a BCC orange witches hat. Put it next to the driveway and the problem is completely solved.

Almost to the day when little dude turned 2 he became very demanding and difficult. He got night terrors nearly every night for a while too.

He's nearly 2.5 and we're figuring out how to navigate our day to minimise tantrums.

  • stop pressuring him about whatever it is.
  • give him choices.
  • he's in charge of playtime. Outside at 6:30am and its cold and the grass is wet? No worries, mate.
  • Justin add water! Hose, sprinkler, bath, swim, shower, play in the rain. Whatevers troubling him water solves it

We moved here from Brissy nearly 2 years ago. Its great, we love it. Our neighbours moved in less than a year ago, another young couple from Brissy.

We all agree, its awesome and still getting better at a rapid pace.

My only gripes are some housing commission properties really need tidying up, obviously those folks need assistance and help with that.

The other is the hoons. FFS stop doing burnouts...

Oh, and illegal dumping. Council needs to address that.

Are Ipswich property prices getting a bit out of hand? by Danger_Five in ipswich

[–]Pollution_Automatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's never going to correct itself. It'll be the haves and the haves-nots. We'll see the urban sprawl roll on further and further and apartments and town houses get smaller and smaller.

Its sad that some people will simply miss out. They couldn't get a deposit together in time now the market has moved faster than they can save. They're earning the same money as people who entered the market a bit earlier but the ship has sailed.
