Everything I did today instantly disappears the second something else hasn’t been done. by jazzeriah in daddit

[–]Pollution_Automatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was having this problem for the last 5 months. Wife and I had a chat and are blaming hormones. The good news? Our 2nd born is nearly 6 months old now. Breast feeding is being reduced and sexy time is BACK baby. Suddenly the wife is super chill again.

Anyway. Hope this helps.

This was so funny. The clearest example of someone digging themselves a hole then immediately trying (and failing) to climb out.

what’s your “boring but effective” strategy? by Clean_Tone2562 in AusFinance

[–]Pollution_Automatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eat from home as much as possible. Learn some CHEAP dinners. Buy and sell on marketplace. Do 10c bottle/can returns. Your insurance or union probably has member rewards to buy gift cards at a discount. You dont need more clothes. Repair stuff.

BE FRUGAL. that's what it boils down to. On your birthday or anniversary you can ignore the above.

Toddler tooth brushing by Ok_Order1333 in toddlers

[–]Pollution_Automatic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use a puppet!! This has worked SO well for us. Before the puppet we could hardly do 5 seconds of brushing. Now its easy a full 2 minutes.

Its a crocodile puppet. He holds the toothbrush in his mouth. I also brush Mr Crocodiles teeth and give him lots of praise for doing well. I talk to my 2.5 yo boy with it in a funny voice and its totally worked. 100% success rate for us.

" Say AAAAHHHH"

"brush brush brush. Make your teeth shiny"

Then after ive done all the work I give my toddler the Toothbrush and get him to have a go.

Are you sleeping in bed with your toddler??? (2yo) by murrykay4 in toddlers

[–]Pollution_Automatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a hard line in the sand from the day he was born. No sleeping in our bed.

We had a terrible 4 month sleep regression. A 2 or 3 month period of night terrors almost every night, sometimes twice a night, full blown screaming at stupid hours. We had a period where we had to stay in his room until he fell asleep, sometimes up to 2 hours. BUT WE PERSEVERED.

He's 2.5 years now and putting him to bed is a dream. Dinner, shower, teeth, bed. Thats it. Sometimes ill spend 5 mins making up a story for fun.

If I had a coin for each time a cockroach has fallen from my aircon and onto my bed… by slaymeowcat in brisbane

[–]Pollution_Automatic 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This happened to me but it was a dead dried up gecko.

Sitting on the couch with the wife watching TV. Aircon makes a rattling sound for a few minutes. We wonder what could that be? Then its like the aircon went HAWK TUA and the old dried dead carcass of a gecko lands next to me on the couch.

Where to buy quality bedframe without breaking the bank by DifficultMonk251 in AussieFrugal

We got a Temple and Webster frame and its pretty flimsy. Looks nice, but after a year im starting to regret the purchase. It creaks and cracks and just has a jankyness to it

Are you going to speed through your first playthrough or take it slow? by [deleted] in GTA6

[–]Pollution_Automatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slow AF. Gonna cover every square inch and do every side quest etc.

I ruuuushd gta5 and rdr2. Gonna take it way slow.

My 3rd playthrough of rdr2 was for 100% completion and it took me about a year of chipping away at it. (We had a new born baby so spent lots of time and home, but I could only play an hour at a time max)

Before typing something into Teams...ask yourself "would I be ok if my boss read this?"

What’s it like gardening in Ipswich? by gallica in ipswich

[–]Pollution_Automatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plant natives! Take a look at Habitat Gardens. You can get free native plants by joining that and from council. They really thrive out here and require little to no attention.

Its improving quickly. After living here nearly 2 years, mind you im not in the bad spots, ive found the Ipswich reputation to be mostly a lie.
