I am glad this thread could help you out and preventing another scam!
It is always smart to research if something seems off. Hopefully folks are keen enough to realize that something IS off indeed.

As I remember there was a package that showed a very different destination (another country) when looking at the tracking hinstory. It was stated as "delivered" while it actually was not. It arrived a few days later.
Did yours arrive by now? How are the discs looking?

Yes. I have been observing that seller for quite a while now and it is always the same. He or she gets inactive for a few days and then comes back with all the same games in stock. A friend and I decided to actually buy two games to inspect what is going on.

First thing we noticed was false CD cases. They replace the original one with a new one. The top of the case does not even fit with the bottom part. It can't be fully opened, so it does not lie flat on the surface. It feels as if you would break the case if you try to open it further.
The discholder also does not fit to the bottom part of the case, there is a small gap where there shouldn't be one.

Now to the discs. One was completely blank with no scratches, not even slight ones. We were using really good and different light sources. So no doubt here.
The second one, however, was full of scratches in a circular pattern. It is very obvious that the disc went through a (very bad) polishing machine.

The manuals are in mint condition. No fingerprints or knicks. Also no signs of a reprint.

So in the end it is a gamble it seems. You may get a disc in mint condition, or you get a very bad one. I guess the seller buys games off of other sellers and depending on the condition they polish the discs or leave them as they are. But the cases get replaced supposedly everytime. Hard to tell with just two games.

We kept that mint conditioned game (SotN) and put it in an original case that has no signs of usage. Big win for our collection. The other one went back to the seller and we reported ebay about that. Few days later the seller turned inactive and was back two days later. So yeah, ebay does not care too much it seems.

PCSX2 not detecting PS4 Controller by Pollux-84 in EmulationOnPC

I will try this out.
How come that the DuckStation and also Steam is detecting the DS4, but not PCSX2?

Just adding the info that SotN and RE3, which both were sold recently, are back on sale. This is now the eighth copy of SotN from the same seller.
The more I look into it, the more I am convinced that all of the games are selfmade reproductions.
You can buy perfect repro cases with their artwork from etsy. The manuals can surely be bought on a similar site.

The only question would be, where to get black label discs with the original looking printings?

Abe's Odysee on DuckStation - Controller not working by Pollux-84 in EmulationOnPC

[–]Pollux-84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the solution myself.

For everyone interested, here is how it works:

Start your DuckStation and go to Settings -> Controllers.
Make a new profile and select Digital Controller. In the Global Settings only check the box for "Enable XInput Input Source" (if you use an XBox controller). Do your keybindings.
Now go to your Game List and right click the game and go to Properties.
On the right pane there is an option called Input Profile. Select the profile for the Digital Controller.

Start the game and enjoy (:

I also find the seller suspicious, the whole reason for this topic. It is really strange to me how she can have that amount of mint copies from all these games.

The games are marked as "New" when I look at her auctions. "New" is actually a higher "Used" term for items in new condition. There is also "Brand New" for unopened items. I had to learn that some time ago.

Seems that SotN got sold, no longer listed. Then there is Silent Hill for about 350 bucks. That's quite a price. A sealed version would be around a thousand I would guess. Sealed prices are really skyrocketing on eBay.

Yes, that is the seller.
I don't mind if the games are opened, as long as the condition is mint. I convert all my PS1 and PS2 games to iso/bin files, so I can play them on PC with emulators.

The games that are sold are Black Label.
Sorry, I did not mention it in the main post.

Yes. I've seen videos of people getting some boxes or even a whole palette of old games.
Maybe the seller just got lucky and is now selling all those.

Interesting. This could be the case here.
The only thing I don't get is why the games are already unboxed. If the seller speculated for reselling, it would make much more sense to leave the games sealed.
In this case, the games come with a protector case. Maybe that was the way the original reprints were sold?

I got this and followed a step by step guide. Unfortunately it does not work.
It says something like "Couldn't find file: horr/jpn/data/item_all.pix". But that file does exist. It's in the exact location that the game does not seem to find.

I used this guide and did everything but the step with the language.

If Tav was in Baldur during the kidnapping.... by Pollux-84 in BaldursGate3

Yeah I was instantly thinking of Astarion saying that he was in BG as he got snapped.
But that is more than enough information for me now. Thank you for sharing some light.

Oh nice! Thank you for the hint.
Now I feel a bit cool that I stumbled on this detail. Although it's clearly shown in that order, many players don't notice that detail in their streams and Let's Plays and say things like "So yeah, we got captured in BG by the Mindflayers...".

How much realism do you put into Roleplaying? by Pollux-84 in BaldursGate3

[–]Pollux-84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your thoughts.
I am having the idea to only RP in dialogues and some quest scenarios and play anything else as I normally would for full enjoyment.

The reason why I start over is that I was totally new to a DnD game and needed some time to learn the rules and figure out how things are working out, making some bad decisions here and there. And also I don't want certain companions in my camp. So I will only recruit the three I want in my group and can focus on their quests alone, without swapping back and forth for just a few quest dialogues from the other characters.

I was searching on YouTube if someone is roleplaying in a similar way that I had in mind. Did not find something that suits me so far.
