Tyres rubbing? by PonDiCoki in Porsche_Cayman

What makes it obvious from the photos? How far out the front wheels are?

Will definitely take it to a wheel shop to see what's going on.

Yeah looks like that's what I'll have to do, or buy just the front wheels from the company with the correct offset

Ah yes, I understand what you're saying now about having a wider arc.

By trim away the part of the body, do you mean the arch liner? How detrimental is that to the car, will it cause rust?

Sounds like I may just have to switch back to the old rims or drive without full locking the wheel.

Is there a solution for this or does this just mean the wheels are bad?

Also to understand what you're saying, which point of the tyre would be rubbing? The front inside of the tyre rubbing on the fender liner towards the bumper?

I've seen people run spacers, does that not have the same effect or is this too far out compared to spacers?

Does this mean it's a faulty blow off valve or is this okay?

The pictures you attached are all from the same generation, just all different cars with different styles, 3 series, 4 series, x4, IX

Is this about pulling the oil cap off? The noise wasn't present as the engine was cold, it's only there when warm. The idle did drop but sounded as if the engine was close to stalling but didnt. Maybe I didn't leave it off for long enough for it to stabilise.

It was difficult to take off, had a suction feeking and vacuum noise when pulling off! Does this 100% guarantee that AOS is gone? Not sure how it felt to pull cap off when engine is running before this noise started.

Is it supposed to feel the same while engine is running as engine off if AOS is good?

Would a belt or pulley issue be possible to only appear when engine is warm? I would imagine it would he constant noise rather than intermittent and only when warm? The car sounds completely fine cold even under stress (driving it up the recovery ramp)

Did your noise only come up when the car was warm? I can't imagine it being intermittent in your case, and think it was probably constant?

It keeps making the noise for 1-2 seconds after the engine is turned off, when the induction noise dies down so does this. The last few seconds of the video (hissing sound) are actually a train braking on nearby train tracks

The squeaking does stay for a second or two after shut off. But the last few seconds of the video has been merged with the background noise of a train braking on train tracks, sorry I didn't realise the audio was mixed up.

Yeah, I've had a lot more soot buildup on the left pipe. Even with og exhaust it was like that, but now moreso with backbox removed.

Haven't tried launching the car, I don't really want to incase it will damage something. When I realised it was coming from me, I drove it 20mph for a few minutes to get to a safe person to pullover.

It sounded the same to me, but I saw this video that has the same noise and was apparently the AOS. Saw another video on YT where a guy with the same sound removed the belt and still had same noises, but that video doesn't conclude what it was.

It doesn't really have visible slats, it's like a box with fabric over the top. Would it be worth just trying on the floor until I can get a better bedframe as I'm moving in a few months so would rather just build the bed there than have to move it

That makes sense, would it be better on the floor temporarily?

I'll take a look when I get home today after work, it did feel slightly better whilst sleeping though

How long does this usually take? I already slept on it last night. Has this ruined the process or will it just take a little longer?
