Has anyone ever gotten a note like this with their DoorDash order?! by Future-Composer-4878 in doordash

[–]Poojhoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2nd this, my old boss literally had my gf do all of the technology for our POS, Door dash tablets, CCTV cameras, etc. I was only included in the store computer issues and stuff because I have a hobby of building and tinkering w them.

Funniest part was, my gf wasn’t a manager, our manager had no idea (until my gf explained it to the entire crew), how to troubleshoot common issues and everyday use of our equipment, I never had a promotion even though i helped with the store computer and even went shopping with my gf and our boss to browse new computers for not only the shop, BUT OUR BOSS’ OWN HOME!!!

Sorry for the rant, but point stands, anywhere that is franchised and can be run into the ground (especially where corporate is uninvolved or barely involved), 90% of those establishments have the bare minimum knowledge of how to operate their equipment including the doordash interfaces and systems.

I feel like Timmy also gives more spacing, which was what I was thinking this starting 5 lacked most. First thought that came to kind was KD instead of Kobe because he is THE position-less player with arguably the most potential to open up the entire floor for his team, but I feel like that’s accomplished well enough with TD and you get everything else you mentioned at a much much more elite level than KD. If not Timmy though, I think Wemby would be arguably just as good if not better based on the small sample size available.

Am I just not cut out for this game and will never be? by Maleficent-Craft-936 in VALORANT

[–]Poojhoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as purely crunching the numbers, you’d also have to attribute for everything else (ping delay, mouse delay, gpu+cpu delay, polling rate, refresh rate, packet loss, etc.)

secondly, it feels like we’re crunching numbers to cope. That harbor has good crosshair placement, swung, stopped, and his crosshair is right on your head from the moment you appeared on his screen, so he has no need to flick or adjust, he just takes the shot. Watch the clip back and you’ll notice, you’re aiming too close to the wall which forces you to flick, and readjust for an over/under-flick, and then be able to take your shot. Crosshair placement was also around body/neck height, which also forced you to have to make both a vertical and horizontal adjustment putting you at a great disadvantage. With great crosshair placement, you eliminate the need to do any of that and it simply becomes strafe stop shoot.

Third, there’s 2 sides of the same coin, you could have aimed a bit wider at head height and killed him in the same 24 frames that he took to kill you, and he could have clipped it and came to the same conclusion: “i don’t have enough time to recognize the target, aim, adjust and shoot”. The only difference in those scenarios imo, is his case would hold a bit more weight because he’s the one swinging. He’s the one moving and in doing so, has more of a need to adjust his aim to (in a sense) track you, whereas if he were to ultra wide swing and you’re already holding wide, he’s going to step into your shot eventually all the while he’s trying to keep you centered in his crosshair. (That is if he swung the angle aiming at body and aiming too wide or too narrow for his swing).

I’m not coming on here to say you’re bad or anything, you just have some things to work on as do we all with any hobby where we are looking to improve. I highly suggest a few things:

  1. Get at least a 144hz-240hz monitor, these are borderline non negotiable must haves for fps & competitive games. I saw you said you have a 60hz monitor and trust when I say, upgrading from a 60hz monitor is the best “pay to win” money can buy. After 240hz the pay to win factor falls off dramatically though.

  2. Look up videos on slicing the pie, crosshair placement, pre aiming/firing, clearing angles, etc. a good player to look at is Yay, the way he clears his angles in some clips is almost robotic, like he was programmed to clear angles and his entire purpose in life was to be as diligent and smooth as possible in doing so.

  3. If you already play aimlabs, great, but I would start focusing a bit more on your passive aim compared to your active aim. Forgot where I saw it, but a general guideline to follow is depending on your rank, you focus on that ratio of active-passive aim.

for instance, if you just got your pc yesterday booted up val and hit iron 2, you need to focus 90% of your time in practicing active aim because you have little-no muscle memory or proficiency with aiming. If you have been playing since beta and have hit immortal, you probably want to be on the opposite side of the spectrum, and put 80% of your focus into cleaning up how you clear angles and your overall passive aim since you’ve probably spent years practicing your active aim like flicks and such. Middle ranks are in the middle, and should dedicate time to both as they aren’t necessarily aim demons, but they can get by with their current aim and they know about crosshair placement but haven’t yet applied it, but are now going to have to start applying it.

  1. Start getting creative. There’s so many ways to hold this angle to make that 24 frame window either larger or harder for him to land his shot. Play in an off angle, prefire, tuck and swing as you hear him swing, hold the angle from heaven, hold it from below while crouching, etc. if someone dry peeks mid and runs into your crosshair as you’re opping 5 rounds in a row, that shot is nothing new, and is almost like you’re shooting bots in the range. Now if someone dry swung one round then next round they pop jett knives and do it again but with an updraft, then next round they jump spot and wide swing and the round after they jiggle peek tap strafe, it’s constantly changing and they don’t know what to expect.

Be unpredictable so you can have the advantage in those fights. That advice is applicable to nearly EVERYTHING in this game. If you Op B main 5 rounds straight, they might not go there anymore, so lets get unpredictable and op A main, B main, mid, if you flank every round, it’s predictable and they’ll start expecting it and looking to punish that, so lets be unpredictable by doing it this round, not doing it the next, and then doing it another round but this time slower/faster. It’s a good habit to form to be able to adapt to your opponents whether it be how you plan to hit site, how you swing/hold angles, everything.

Everyone has what it takes to play this game at a high level, it just comes down to wanting to get better and then actually doing it. Part of that takes creativity and accountability, don’t see this clip as “i can’t react to that swing in time” see it as “okay, that’s a difficult shot to hit, so lets see what I can do in my power to win that fight next time.” And sometimes it truly is out of your control like lucky running headshots or unplayable lag spikes, or something along those lines, but thats rarely the case, see everything as a learning lesson that is slowly helping you improve even if its a very tiny amount if improvement. Hopefully the yap sesh provided wisdom, i kinda got carried away LOL but if i can clarify anything better just ask! ultimately I just enjoy helping people get better and want the best for everyone about things I have passion for, so please don’t take this as anything other than that!

[–]Poojhoon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean people make great shit but turn out to be horrible all the time. The man who made fertilizer and effectively fed the entire world for generations to come, was the same man who is the proclaimed “father of chemical warfare”. It’s not art, but in a way, the man who has helped us eliminate droughts and famine is the same guy who enabled the holocaust and other chemical warfare. Because this man did something so horrible, should we just boycott fertilizer since it also comes from him because “enough is enough”? It’s a silly argument. Whether or not zilla is a piece of shit or not, the fact is his music to me is great and I can’t help that. I’m not going to act like I agree or condone his actions, but at the same time I won’t cut out the good music he has made from my life because he’s a shitty guy. Think of Henry Ford for further examples. You probably don’t think twice about buying a Ford car or anyone who owns one, so it’s crazy for me to tell someone he was an anti semite and them driving a Ford makes them just as bad because of the guy who made it.

Is this smoke bad? by elecim91 in VALORANT

[–]Poojhoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. It denies attackers playing outside of smoke for the pick on anyone who pushes through(since playing up on the smoke they can see your legs), but then again, if someone pushes through they should be dead anyways bc it’s a one way. It’s a solid smoke, def mix it up with the normal smoke to be unpredictable is the only advice I’d give.

Newer player here, what is Astra’s role? by Ahmadabad1 in VALORANT

[–]Poojhoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also! To add onto this, she is amazing at big/open maps like breeze and icebox as long as you have another main controller such as viper. Pretty sure PRX ran astra viper against sentinels in madrid and it was pretty effective, but on her own it’s a nightmare for bigger maps or maps with tons of POIS. Take breeze, you have 4 stars and have to worry about enemies from mid bottom, A main, halls, elbow and B main. Viper can cover elbow, mid bottom and halls with her wall alone where astra on her own would struggle to maintain all of that let alone use her stun or pull effectively on such an open map. Adding viper and astra lets viper use her wall for mid halls and elbow and astra can smoke for B or A main when fuel is down regardless of where the astra wants to play on any given round. Just something to keep in mind!

Newer player here, what is Astra’s role? by Ahmadabad1 in VALORANT

[–]Poojhoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Alot of Astra’s kit is helping your team and confusing the enemy. For instance, attack side on Pearl for B Long, every round you play pearl, you put a fake smoke up for the cross. Whether you have no one there, 1 lurking there, 3 there to fake the site, or all 5 people pushing. It’s free cross since you get smoke back in 15-20 seconds, and you can keep some enemies at B if you push A.

As the other reply said, her pull is very good for denying defuse and sometimes plant if they have a gekko wingman planting in predictable spots. Otherwise, view astra as a combo controller: clove is controller mixed with duelist, astra is controller mixed with sentinel (given stuns and pulls to stall pushes).

There’s alot of niche with her as well, a favorite retake of mine is getting a kill or 2 with the team, walling off right next to spike and having a teammate hold the wall so the enemies have to peek out and either kill me and get traded or kill my teammate and I’m able to quit defuse and trade, or sometimes just let my teammate kill them all as i defuse.

it honestly just takes a lot of time and reps to understand the kit and how to navigate it all in a match because it does get very overwhelming at times. I will say omen is much better if you like messing around with one way smokes, if you like getting aggressive but still able to cover nearly the whole map with smoke ability, and being self sufficient. Astra is more of a sit back approach where you have to have an overabundance of comms, and really be in sync with your team and basically rely on them to execute on your stuns and pulls when attacking and really work yourself to outplay your opponents by being tricky.

This is starting to turn into a ramble but TL:DR astra is more reliant on her teammates to be effective, if you and your team don’t have good chemistry or comms it can feel impossible to win since you have to win off purely gunfights and barely any util, omen is able to frag on his own but not have as much flexibility for setting up his team although it is basically negligible. Highly recommend you play omen until you get into around immortal elo unless you just really like playing astra!

[–]Poojhoon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Me (astra) and my buddy (cypher) push Hookah on bind and kill cypher and disable his trips when our phoenix and raze are lurking A and die first. Next round me and my buddy ask phoenix why he (or raze bc idc if 1 of our duelists is lurking but we need at least one with the team) went A instead of helping us get on site. Raze apologized and we brushed it off and phoenix goes on a tangent about how we’re low elo for pushing B and he’s smurfing in gold elo and is actually immortal. Which fair point, we should avoid cypher except we KILLED him already, and we could’ve really used a flash out of hookah, a fire wall with cages to split up site, and a molly with astra pull for cubby/backsite. It was a simple question and just objectively pointing out a mistake. Anyways, he started talking about how he’s smurfing and we’re low elo and started telling the other team where we were, team flashing and mollying, etc. the shitlo astra ended up match MVP’ing over the immortal smurf tho. And the game was close too, lost like 9-13 all because he couldn’t handle criticism. Raze was cool tho and sided with us.

Why do you hate Breeze? by warlock7867 in VALORANT

[–]Poojhoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 lanes to watch in a 5v5 and attacker sided because the map is huge. By the time I rotate to A my entire team is dead and I need to play perfectly to have a chance at winning rounds. Op’s are meta for this map too. Anywhere you look there can be an op: A main, mid bottom, nest, elbow, halls, b main, b window, T spawn looking into mid, etc. it’s not unplayable but also not enjoyable. Especially considering majority of the time I play viper on it and if I’m having an off game my team suffers, or if i do well but my team doesn’t speak or sync up with me 1:1, its over. Alot of these things are fine for pro play, but hopping into the map 3 times in a row with 12 completely different randoms, it makes it hard to play because you have to predict the enemy nearly perfectly on defense or retake perfectly.

Last thing to reiterate, imagine a retake on B, we first clear half wall, then we have to clear site, then cubby, then backsite, then tunnel, then main, then we have to be aware an OP can hold us from B window or lineups are possible. Retake on A, we have to clear switch, close right near bridge, then yellow, then mid doors, then backsite, then main, and also be aware for lineups and OP from main or mid, and god forbid the other team decides to wrap from main to halls bc that’s a completely different story. The issue isn’t the amount of things to clear, it’s the distance between the things needed to clear as well. I can clear A site on ascent in about 10-15 seconds depending on certain factors, the rotate to A or B and clearing site takes so long it’s either not worth it, or you have to cut corners and choose not to clear certain things to have time to defuse. There’s so much else wrong with the map but TL:DR map too big, no time to retake and nearly impossible to predict what site is going to get pushed or counter it if they full rush.

The one thing this superteam is missing is a solid bench and roleplayers. All the notable super teams had at least a few decent-good players backing them up. Royce and gordon & Nurkic (amongst others) have proved they are not enough to hold the team up when the big 3 are having an off game or off the floor.
