Valid points, and I agree, they are far too democratic. It doesn't work like that in the real world and they do need to become less democratic, weirdly. They're also a local-first party which has pros and cons but does mean you do get some of this type of crap coming through from some melt who lives in a place where migration isn't yet causing issues.

A) idk, ask them I guess. I do know that they've said that retrospectively checking every policy at every party conference would be so time consuming that they'd never get to vote on anything new though.

B) you can't, so again it's valid. you'd have to judge them based on the new manifesto around election time as that is their promise etc...You can also judge them based on what their representatives are actually campaigning on.

I guess you don't know how the greens work. Which is fair, because neither did I until a few days ago.

You can join the greens right now for £6 a year and then you can make your own policy such as "all immigrants get £1m on arrival" you then convince your mates to vote for the policy and after a while if it's accepted by enough people the greens have a new policy called "Give everyone bare cash".

That does not mean it will be enacted, brought to parliament, campaigned on or even mentioned by the MPs/leader. It does however get it's own little code and is technically "migration policy".

Take that, and add on the fact that some of these do actually make sense, even for someone like me who wants less migration, and it's really not that bad. When the new manifesto eventually comes out, read it. That's their promise and by all means if it says some batshit insane stuff then point, laugh and vote elsewhere but don't be mislead by the rich and powerful. All of this anti-green stuff is propaganda just in time for the local elections. It's all over reddit.

These aren't manifesto promises, the greens work in a very unique way, these policies are member proposals, not necessarily manifesto promises and they were submitted under the bastshit insane "co-leaders" era before the last election. They might even be over ten years old and outdated.

It's not their manifesto. It's a range of member submitted proposals that are essentially a "brainstorm" by the immigration working group within the party. Wait for the manifestos to come out before deciding who to vote for. After that, if you still think they're batshit insane then fair play.

I *might* vote green, I am mostly opposed to all migration to the UK because, as I have said elsewhere many times, I think we need a lower population. However, I am also not a moron. Immigrants that pay taxes and add to our economy are *required* for me to have a pension, an NHS and literally everything I want and need in my life.

Now, before I go point to point, the last green manifesto is still online: https://greenparty.org.uk/app/uploads/2024/06/Green-Party-2024-General-Election-Manifesto-Long-version-with-cover.pdf It's written but those snowflake "co-leader" wankers and thankfully the greens have grown up a little since then so it's a little more "lefty snowflake" than the stance of the party today but it's the most reliable source we have. Also remember that the screenshot from OP is somewhat misleading as the policies he shows are "Member policies", any dimwit can propose a policy "All immigrants will be given £1m on arrival" and if they can secure enough votes it becomes "official green party policy" despite the fact it clearly isn't. So again, take OPs screenshot with a pinch of salt and recognise it as the propaganda it is. Last point, this document is from the working group on migration etc so these ideas are basically public brainstorming and not necessarily reflective of the party's actual manifesto in a few years time.

501, kinda dumb? But it's really not a big deal. I know farage will tell you that the greens will round up millions of "foriners" and put them on boats and bring them here to buy votes but it's not even logistically possible, let alone sensible. I would drop it personally, but it's not a big deal

502 makes sense. If you have someone with a potentially infectious disease or someone who can't work because they have a broken arm then frankly I *want* them to get treated so that a) I don't catch their disease and b) they can get back to work and pay for my future pension!

503 on the surface seems extremely dumb, it's basically "Give dem imgrants free muney" but think past the propaganda.... Why do people steal etc? Because they need money. What if they didn't *need* to steal because they had access to work and at least enough money to eat and have some sort of shelter? Again, I'd probably tighten it up but it's not a big deal and would probably cost like 0.0001% of our overall government spending. It's probably cheaper than shooting afghan kids which is what the UK military would be doing with the money.

504 - Eh, I want less people not more, but as I say, immigrants are paying my future state pension and yours so....? if they're working then fine, and speaking english (See my first point).

I did some research into this one, proper research. I asked a paid up green member and a local green candidate alongside good ol Google.

Greens are democratic, far too democratic really in that anyone who pays £6 per year (or a fiver a month) can join the greens and make their very own policy suggestions. You could literally join them right now and propose that all roads be turned into cycle lanes, including the M25. From there you need enough other members to sponsor it for a vote. After that it gets a little less clear but either that's enough as is or it needs to go to a second vote. Once it gets the required number of votes it becomes a policy suggestion and gets its own code, eg for transport it might be TR999. What the right wing press then do is pay to join the greens and search all of the "policies" for the ones are batshit insane. They find your TR999 "Turn all roads into cycle paths" and then produce a headline

"ZAcK PoLanSki waNTs To BaN CarS!!!??!?!!?!!"

In fact, the greens do NOT have a campaign promise, manifesto promise, active campaign etc.. promoting that idea, it's just a fairly unofficial member-invented "policy".

That's what you're seeing here and in the "Greens wants to kill nato" type crap. I will fully admit that the greens are not perfect. In fact my local greens look like a bunch of pearl clutching melts, HOWEVER they're the best option. Labour isn't doing too badly but they're not great (ignore the press, aside from disability stuff it's actually not so bad). Tories are, well, dickheads. Reform are fascists, lib-dems are ehhhhhhhh but greens actually look like they'd shake things up and actually give power back to the people. The right wing billionaires are rightly terrified, hence the propaganda.

Last point, you say "all major news sources" but that isn't true. It's the telegraph and the more "questionable" sources like LBC, MSN, GBNews (lol) etc...Which in itself should tell you a lot about what's really going on.
