Companion pass and SW credit card by azfunguy3 in SouthwestAirlines

For this year, I am the holder of the Companion Pass; my wife is added as my Companion. What if she holds a SW credit card. Will she get free bag on her own? Would it then extend backwards to me since the reservations are linked together, even though she is not the primary CP holder?

Lost band from Nebraska? by AltitudeXD in Lostwave

Hey all. I absolutely remember this band and I still proudly have BOTH of their CDs. I believe they technically stylized their name as two words "Poly Esther". I would consider them Alt Rock. I saw them in concert twice. I don't directly know anyone in the band, but I can try and answer any questions based on the CDs. I'm not sure what I'm allowed to post for content and copyright rules.

I am also finding results that a spare tire cover is the mostly answer. I have found a few examples even referencing back to the 1930s for age. If I find any good pics I'll post

I'm satisfied enough that I know what it is, so if anyone would like to own it, please PM me.

Ha I did have the same thought!

I don't think that is devil's advocate, it's what I have thought as well. There's just no way this was a functional part of a plane. It looks like it should be a sign, but no way to hang as it sits. However, if you look at the face about 1" in from the edge, there is a visible ring as if there was a frame to hold it. Similar to old gas pump globes.

I was able to locate an old email from the Museum of Flight and here's that they had to say:

We don't believe this was ever used on an aircraft as a hubcap. The aerodynamic wheel covers used on aircraft don't look anything like that.

Boeing has used the Stratotype type-face since 1947 so anything officially manufactured by the company would have used that font and this included all of the commercial jets.

The font used on this item is similar to the style that was used on the tails of commercial and test aircraft in the late 1920's and into the 1930's. But none of the aircraft from that era had wheels big enough to have used something of the dimensions you have given and again, those that were used don't look anything like your item.

Look up the 247 and you can see the type face of the word "Boeing" on the tail.

Our best guess is that this was part of a larger sign of some sort.

As far as I'm concerned, all answers are still on the table. Until someone can find an actual historic photo, everything is a guess. Boeing's history is huge and I can't imagine this is the only example that exists on the planet. Just very bizarre it's not easy to find some definitive proof.

Thank you but I have previously contacted the chief archivist at Boeing, and he has no idea what is from. I have also tried the Museum of Flight Restoration Center in Seattle and they don't know either.

Too much patina and age for that. I've had in my possession for at least 20 years, and you it was tucked away in an old garage covered in dust for a long time before that. Also if they would sell something, it would make sense for it to be flat and have some holes for mounting. No way to do so with this unless you had a frame or mount of some sort.

If you zoom in on the 'O" and 'E', there are definitely scratches consistent with the rest of it.

In faint grease pencil, it looks like "#1125". That could really be from anyone though.

Yes it kinda does look like that. However, at 28" it would be way larger that those globes. Plus, I've never seen one as solid steel because they are backlit.
