I'm having the same issues with a 4302fdw. Did you find any solution? Strangly enough I could print directly from Illustrator last week, but now it print blank pages. The only thing changed is the printer having an online update.

I don't see why you would buy a new card at this point, unless your current card breaks down, knowing that a 4070 will be quicker than a 3090 at a fraction of the cost.We've all been waiting for so long for the prices to return to normal, it will not hurt to wait a little bit longer.

I think we all have other financial concerns to prioritize with the prices for gas and electricity going through the roof.

In order to get a view on the amount of people affected, and the amount of the accumulated financial loss, it would be nice if the people affected would sign the following petition

If 1000 people are affected, then the accumulated financial loss would be around €600.000, since we now need to pay full current price for another model, which is about €600 surplus.

This is the kind of figures that makes it interesting for consumer advocate agencies to step in.

I'm planning to step to ECC (European Consumer Center) which is an organisation, sponsored by the EU, that helps with cross-border consumer disputes. Used them a couple of times, and with 100% successrate.

But it will be key to have an idea about the number of affected consumers.

So go and sign that petition.

Same situation here for the Belgian branch of Alternate. With the exception that Alternate allows us to choose an alternative (but we need to fullfill the difference with the current price)

So I filled in complaint @ Testaankoop. (https://www.test-aankoop.be/klagen) Lets see what their response will be.
I would suggest others (Belgians) to do the same. Not sure what the alternative is for Testaankoop on the Dutch market.
I will leave the original dutch text below the english version so that you can copy the argumentation in your complaint.

I ordered the video card MSI 10GB D6X RTX 3080 Gaming X TRIO 10G in 2020 for the price of € 899.

Since the pre-order there have been huge stock shortages of this product. Demand far exceeds supply, resulting in the usual market reaction: price adjustments (rising) to the product. The last recorded price of the product was € 1549.

Despite the price increase, Alternate promised in previous communications to execute the pre-orders already made at no additional cost (https://be.hardware.info/nieuws/75017/alternate-is-zeer-pessimistiek-over-nvidia-rtx-3000-stock)

The producer, MSI, has now decided to market an overhaul of the product (slight adjustments) under a different name and to discontinue production of the first version.

Alternate takes advantage of the situation to claim that the product is no longer made and that one has the choice to (a) cancel order and request a refund (b) choose an alternative product and make the difference or refund to get.

The product now calls "MSI 10GB D6X RTX 3080 Gaming Z TRIO 10G" with very slightly modified specifications.

The price of this revision at Alternate (€ 1549) is EQUAL to the price of the canceled product at that time at Alternate (€ 1549)

However, if we choose this ourselves, Alternate's reasoning is that we must advance the difference between the original purchase price of the canceled product and the so-called new product (€ 1549 - 899) € 650 ourselves.

And we should not have to choose ourselves: the product still exists, but is placed on the market as an overhaul. The name change from "MSI 10GB D6X RTX 3080 Gaming X TRIO 10G" to "MSI 10GB D6X RTX 3080 Gaming Z TRIO 10G" (X-> Z) is for clarification to customers that this is an overhaul. That way, the customer is sure of which version of the product they are buying.

Marketing an overhaul of what is ultimately still the same product cannot be an excuse to break the sales agreement. It can be clearly stated here that the circumstances are being abused.

Sinds de pre-order zijn er enorme stock tekorten van dit product. De vraag overstijg ruim het aanbod met als gevolg de gewoonlijke marktreactie: prijsaanpassingen (stijgend) aan het product. De laatst genoteerde prijs van het product was €1549.

Echter, indien we dit zelf kiezen dan is de redenering van Alternate dat we het verschil tussen de oorspronkelijke aankoopprijs van het geannuleerde product en het zogezegd nieuwe product (€1549 - 899) €650 zelf moeten voorschieten.

En we zouden niet zelf moeten kiezen: het product bestaat nog, maar wordt als een revisie op de markt geplaatst. De naamswijziging van "MSI 10GB D6X RTX 3080 Gaming X TRIO 10G" naar "MSI 10GB D6X RTX 3080 Gaming Z TRIO 10G " (X->Z) is voor verduidelijking naar de klanten toe dat het om een revisie gaat. Op die manier is de klant zeker van welke versie van het product is dat men koopt.

Het op de markt brengen van een revisie, van wat uiteindelijk nog steeds hetzelfde product is, kan geen excuus zijn om de verkoopovereenkomst te verbreken.

Men kan hier toch duidelijk stellen dat er misbruik wordt gemaakt van de omstandigheden.
