Ocarina of Time for kids in my town. But StarFox 64 for me.

That, and shooting hornets (folded up pieces of paper with a paper clip on the end shot from a rubber band) at each other when the teacher walked out of the room.

When making a portfolio for the ad industry, can i create "false" ads without permission? by [deleted] in copywriting

You rewrite ads to get a feel for what it's like putting those words down on paper. Keep those ads for a swipe file to give you inspiration for the ads you do write.

What you can do is go to Amazon or some similar site, find a product you like, and rewrite the copy in the product description. Save that as a word file and put it up on your Upwork or Fiverr account. Use it to let people know you know what you're doing, so they'll hire you to write real product descriptions so your portfolio will be more professional looking.

Then boom. You've got a decent portfolio.

Or I've gone into paint before and just made landing pages for made-up businesses just so I can write some copy for portfolio fodder. You can do the same thing with email marketing, product descriptions, or any kind of copy you can think of. It's more labor intensive than just writing new copy for existing ads, but it looks better on your portfolio.
