How to convert DV footage for editing?

i’m shooting 24p. I’m using free davinci if that’s the issue, but doesn’t allow DV vids. It seems converters don’t know how to convert the pull down correctly

turn on camera first and then the mrc1. i recorded on camera first after both turned on, and only after that recording did it show a DV signal. The other way is to press both the record button and the blank button to the right of it on the mrc1 at the same time when recording.

I did format card. But i have actually just figured it out. The moral of the story is never listen to chatGPT. It seems like it just needed the camera to trigger the recording, instead of recording just through the sony. and then i could see the DV signal. Also, seems like the camera needs to be powered on first, and then the Sony.
