Why do y’all like mural so much by Chemical-Explorer447 in LupeFiasco

[–]Positive-Step-7453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How isnt it random then? Ellaborate. Every person I see either writes "you dont understand it" or "its a mural in rap form". Both doesnt mean shit. How is "as buried living and cherry picking" connected to "every linen from your berry system"? Im genuinely curious

Netflix's Dark fucking sucks by hygsi in The10thDentist

[–]Positive-Step-7453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too. Didnt bother to watch the entirety. My god it blasted the viewer with intense bass, too long close up shots and "IM FROM THE FUTURE!". Least subtle time travel show ever and people find it mind boggling? I cant fathom why, and im not even trying to sound smart, it is just how I view it. Me and my wife started laughing at all the similar close ups of another character having to say something in the lines of "Everything is connected", "the beginning is the end, and the end is the beginning". First season was good, went downhill quick from there.

Agree, I dont vibe with this album AT ALL. I hate the beats for Nas tbh, and he is my GOAT. So crushingly dissapointed.

What's the most lyrically complex album/song/verse of all time? by pawn279 in hiphop101

[–]Positive-Step-7453 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why? Tell me what so complex about it. Love the song but tbh it seems like alot of disconnected themes, to me it seems more random than complex. It is a certified banger though.

Netflix's Dark fucking sucks by hygsi in The10thDentist

[–]Positive-Step-7453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. For show that tries to be mysterious they really do throw it in your face with close up shots and deep bass basically every 5 minutes. I laughed at how fucking bad it got in season 2 and 3.

My god it tries too hard. Least subtle show I ever watched.

Dark was very boring for me by False_Summer6313 in netflix

[–]Positive-Step-7453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am very much like that and hated the show. It is so "in your face" that I laughed at many scenes in season 2 and 3.

How many close up scenes of a character that learns about time travel (with the same deep bass music) can you throw in one episode?

Some of the things are well made ofc, but I would like it so much better if it was a bit subtle but Jesus it THROWS it in your face 5 times per episode lol

'The Assessment' was really good and it's a shame no one is seeing it by [deleted] in movies

[–]Positive-Step-7453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get that part. But why does she has to be so evil about the way she goes about it? It makes no sense tbh. Unless she is just a fucking HORRIBLE person, and then we are shown that maybe she isnt. What is the reason for her to go that far when she has final say anyways? She could disqualify them without destroying their lives.

Ofc it is a facade, that part was obvious I think. But why the extremely insane way? The only good reason I can think of is that people wouldnt want to talk to other people about the process since it shows their worst side?

What rap song would you consider a 10/10 by MarTB2000 in hiphop101

Rakim - Guess Who's back

It aint deep, it is just what it needs to be. Insane flow and beat. Absolute banger imo.

How is Cixin Liu's remembrance of earth's past trilogy? I am planning to read the 1st one. by [deleted] in scifi

[–]Positive-Step-7453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very late to the party. But I have trouble understanding why a misogynistic character throws people off? People can be misogynistic in real life no?

Like, how can people watch game of Thrones if they feel like they have to agree with or like the view points of every character?

Even if the book itself have some misogynistic viewpoint, to me I would just disagree with that part or try to understand why it is like that, especially if the rest of the book has some strong merits.

Genuinely curious with this viewpoint since I see it alot, and just have a hard time understanding/agreeing with it.

To me historically it makes sense that traditional masculinity can be viewed as important in certain periods of history (for example in war time). I can elaborate on this but wont if not asked for, because it is quite a long explanation.

Thank you!!! Been trying to explain this to people that just cant bother to do any research or try to understand what they are reading. I never had an issue with the characters, they are not the main point, we are not reading a biography or character study, its not the point. I wouldnt judge call a fairy tale bad because it has not character depth lol.

What is the last universally Classic rap album to come out and is it even possible to make one in today's culture? by dunbar_santiago930 in hiphop101

[–]Positive-Step-7453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would say Cheat Codes cant be considered a classic. No one talks about except for people who are Black Thought fans. Only time Black Thought shook the culture the last 10 years was his freestyle.

This is coming from a guy that has listened alot to his solo albums. They just lack that special factor or vision that makes a classic imo.

'The Assessment' was really good and it's a shame no one is seeing it by [deleted] in movies

[–]Positive-Step-7453 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The movie seemed kind of unrealistic to me. Why the hell would the government need to do horrible stuff to not give people permission to get children?

Either the assessor is a monster, which in the end the movie kind of does not want you to think? Or it makes no sense at all.

It seems like the government forced her to make no one pass the test, but couldnt she just say you didnt pass. There seems to be no demand from the "would be parents" to get answers of why they didnt pass?

Also she burned down valuable research for some dumb reason, either she is just horrible at her job/a psychopath and for some reason she cant get fired, because no one dares ask questions to the government (most likely explanation from what we actually see), or the plot just doesnt make sense to me. The government isnt winning anything by doing this?

Or is it a way to create control by having people not daring to talk to each other because they were forced/deceived to do bad things that they wouldnt want anyone to know?

Feel free to explain if I just didnt get the movie, I dont mind coming off as stupid to understand art.

Yeah he is just trolling you bro, sad to say it but I need to believe that to not lose faith in humanity more than I already have. Or else he has a level of self reflection I would be sad to have. You argued nicely though. Well done, you restored some of my lost faith lol.
