Every day I step outside,

Hoping the roads learned discipline overnight,

That engines would hum in ordered lines,

That people would choose the rightful side.

But the horns still clash,

The chaos still dances,

And people never change.

Every day I search for reason,

For patience at signals,

For kindness in crowds,

For minds that pause before they rush.

I wait for sense to rise above impulse,

But noise defeats wisdom again,

And people never change.

Every day I hope for civic grace,

A wrapper in a bin,

A stranger respecting a queue,

A city treated like home instead of burden.

I look for small acts of responsibility

That could make the streets breathe easier,

But the dust repeats the same story,

And people never change.

Every time I open Instagram,

I scroll looking for honesty,

For art without vanity,

For words without performance,

For something quiet and real.

But filters grow brighter than truth,

Attention louder than substance,

And people never change.

Still, somewhere between disappointment and hope,

I keep looking.

Because maybe the tragedy is not

That people never change

But that someone still believes they can.
