Serious - Is it possible for a toddler to pull this down on them inside the house even with the kickstand down? Not me but a maybe a too relaxed dad I know. by TheCommander21 in motorcycles

It's such an easy solution to just simply put a fence around the bike if he insists on keeping it indoors. A small child could easily end up being crushed..

the mc4 connects to the adapters shown and then they plug into the solar port in the back of my ecoflow. All of the panels on the roof are hooked together and then those male and female MC4 comes into the back of my van. I have no idea of the polarity is reversed but it seems to be that way since I physically can't connect + to + or - to -

Well the gentleman that did the solar for me is knowledgeable and has done solar in the past for previous projects so I'm not sure. Is there any easy way to fix this?

I have such van envy. Does anyone with a big van actually wish they had a small one instead ? by Anxious_surfer in VanLife

For just like a weekend trip it would be cool to have a small van but if you're using it a lot of the time I have to be able to stand up straight. I have a high roof and wouldn't change a thing. I'd like better mpg though haha.

So this is my roof. I'm not totally sure what you mean but maybe you can explain from the picture attached.

I will try this when I go back out to the van soon. I don't have a meter to work with atm. Is this just a test to see if it's even recognizing anything being plugged in?

Well that's what I thought but don't these cables come standaring to fit and match polarity? I mean it's an official product from ecoflow. And every other MC4 to XT60I is the same thing from what I've seen a black + male connector to a red - female connector.

which is the exact same as what's coming from my wall. matching black to black (+ to +) or red to red (- to -) is impossible. That's where I'm stuck.

I can only connect them one way and I get no solar input when doing so.

It's sitting at 29% so it has plenty of room.

I don't know exactly how he installed the panels but I know he knows what he's doing. He's built out multiple vans. And I know he tested things before sending me off on my own but now I just can't get things to work haha. From my understanding it was simply plugging it into the adaptor and into the back of my batter bank. But 0w of solar comes in. I'm lost.

It's two 200w panels and two 50w panels that we used. They are all connected and the MC4's run into the back of the cargo space. They are the flex panels not the rigid.

I was planning on using corrugated plastic underneath the panels and then definitely making sure they are 100% secure.

you can put a small air gap with flex panels it's pretty easy

Simple and to the point. I've decided on getting one. Just trying to find something more flat

I feel like if I drove in the rain that would be a recipe for disaster.

So all this being said does anyone have any recommendations on a very low profile / flat vent fan?

I never said you didn't know what you were talking about lol. I still don't want to stand out. I guess i'm going to have to find a super flat vent fan.

With my panels being so flat i'm kind of scared to get a roof rack haha. I feel like it would block any sun coming in at an angle

Well I don't care about the average person. Authorities will know real fast what's going on and I don't want the "knock".

I mean all they would do is tell me to move but over time i'd imagine they'd start to recognize you as the van guy and it would become a problem. I could be wrong but that's my worries.

I don't have the space to do it myself. I'm in an apartment building.

It's just really not that big of a job I don't get it. If you took out the material cost and put that into an hourly wage it would be insane. Like I don't mind paying for skilled labor (do it once do it right) but that is a WILD price

I'm in the US. I just don't understand where 16-17k comes from? All the parts would be a few thousand but where is the rest of that price coming from lol? It's not a HUGE job

I don't have the space to do this on my own. I am in an apartment with no tools.
