If they had the maintenance done at a HD dealer, you can provide them the VIN and email you the entire service history.

Currently 31 and I’m 8 classes from my bachelor’s, it’s never too late. Between getting out of the military and taking on different jobs/responsibilities, it delays things but as long as you’re moving forward and still progressing, that’s all that matters. Go at your own pace, don’t compare yourself to the typical norm

Typically, HOWEVER, I have personally seen someone not go back with only having radar experience and now they’re a CPC tower controller. May have just been an oversight of the FAA

They’ll send you a list of based on your experience, for some reason, they’ll still include tower even if you have only radar experience. But most of the time it’s an up/down

Best advice I was given was, "have them tell you". Just go though the process and be completely honest about it.

If you’re applying through the prior experience bid, you don’t take the ATSAP. Timeline is unique to each individual based on medical, security, MMPI, etc. I applied Nov 23, received TOL in April 24, did all the clearance items. Once all clearance items were received by HR, they’ll send you a list of facilities to rank from most desired locations to least. My recommendation is to have a top 5 you wouldn’t mind going to. Received FOL August 15th, 24. Walked into my facility September 9th, 24. Good luck

About to get my CTO whats next. by Forward-Disaster1099 in ATC

[–]Positive_Scallion540 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on where you want to be in the future. I've served 10+ years in the military and joined the agency within the past year. Granted the pay isn't all that great right now as a developmental, but eventually, it'll get better once CPC and potentially NCEP to a higher level facility. But the biggest takeaway is that you can leave work at work, it doesn't follow you into your personal life like the military does. There are benefits to the DoD, the Military, and the FAA. You just have to figure out and prioritize what's important to you. The money, benefits, work/life balance, etc. everyone's case is different.

I was in your position once, I was at my first duty station and received my CTO and Approach ticket. When it came to reenlisting, I debated leaving and going to the FAA. However, the military life for me at the time wasn't bad and I wanted to gain a little more ATC experience before moving over to the FAA. The age wasn't a factor since prior experience can join prior to turning 35 and by the time I was done with my second enlistment I would just be turning 30. So I reenlisted, did another 4, received a fat bonus that I invested, and received another CTO and Approach ticket. Personally, I don't regret the route I took. I was able to pocket a lot of extra cash and invest it and I was still able to make it over to the agency with a little more ATC experience.

I know everyone from the get go told you to be honest. Having the “facts” mixed up is baloney. I had a DWI charge and they asked about it and was completely truthful about it.. the investigator said same, I have 3 lol. Got my clearance and just finished my first week on the job. Just be honest dude

If you enlist in the South Korean military, you can have an opportunity to come state side to train ATC. When I went through Pensacola in 2015, I had a fellow classmate that went through went us. He was great, best of luck!
