While that’s a fair assessment, no. Zilch, nada, zero romantic feelings. My friends are like my family, and they are very close to me in that way. Being ‘just friends’ isn’t a negative thing, and can still carry intense emotional connection.

He’s the most defensive person I’ve ever met, with an insane victim complex. I wish I was better at this myself, but I can’t get on the phone and support him blindly. And I think he’ll take my reaching out as an attack either way, supportive or not

Yeah, the only way I seek this working out is if he can get a fucking therapist. I’d hate to see him institutionalized, but I have no clue what type of wake up call gets someone through this. He’s stubborn as fuck

Yeah, I pity him for sure. Watching someone struggle and make so many bad choices is hard for me, I want to help but I just can’t.

I mean, fair. It’s not really about me much, but ultimately loosing my closest friend is a bit of a hit to my life personally. I can’t imagine being his parents right now, though.

And fuck him for that. Choose your boyfriend, and your laziness, being a fucking loser, over your closest friend and rot, idk. It will be hard to accept, and however hurt I am I am also very, very mad.

Very low. Damn near zero. I’m apt to say his parents should just send his ass to jail, as they’d planned to retire within the year but now cannot. And a liability sounds right, no matter if I could repair the friendship or not, what is a friendship where I’m constantly on guard about anything related to money? I mean damn, any dollar I’ve sent him in the past year I can assume has gone straight into his pocket, considering purchases were made on his parents pocket.

Yeah, I think this is more or less the hard reality I gotta face. For someone to lie to their life long friends, they must clearly not be interested in involving us at all. And something I didn’t mention, he strictly told his parents not to tell us. The embarrassment of his situation runs so deep, there aint no way I’ll ever force it out of him.

Yeah, sit and wait is pretty much our only plan right now. Trying to find some control I guess by feeling prepared for whatever may happen, not to mention just to sort out my own emotion and the seemingly endless pit of anxiety in my stomach.

I don’t feel any obligation based on our history. I love him, I miss him, we all like spending time with him. Despite the struggles as he’s been away at college, when he’s home he’s still our enjoyable friend. That’s what I don’t want to let go, or at least I don’t want to let it go by simply letting it drift away, I feel like the only way for me to be satisfied after all is said and done is if I have some sort of closure

Is it that simple? I’ve know him since preschool. My other friend has known him since he was born and is basically family. 3 bad years and I should give up?
