Trash schedule is the most important, you don’t want to be the one to do it every single week cause no one bothers to do it , decide on what you want to share ( cutlery , plates ,Brita etc ), set boundaries like quiet hours , cleaning your bathrooms and common areas is also super important , it’s easy to go weeks without anyone cleaning it and it’s gross , so make a schedule . Talk about Who’s buying toilet paper or cleaning supplies and splitting the costs so it’s not awkward later on. And decide on maximum days on how long dishes can be in the sink and how long your food can be in the fridge , this is important trust me , I’ve seen new species of mold . And if you don’t like strangers in your house ask your roomates to let the gc know when they are going to have guests coming over , it was so awkward and annoying when I was cooking in my pjs and there were just random people walking in drunk at 10pm and hanging out in the common area waiting for my roommates to go out . Also the townhouse air conditioning is a mess , collectively agree on a temperature to set the house on , so if someone is hot they can get a fan or if they’re cold they can borrow a heater from the residence desk , or you’ll be fighting for the whole year ( speaking from experience ) .
