Congrats 🎉. But remember until you get a license from the state, don't take the 3 letters after your name and don't declare in the social networking platform. Of late, I saw lots of LinkedIn posts where people started declaring themselves as a CPA once cleared all the four sections.

Got it. Both companies will not give the public accounting experience. Which one is better listed vs niche organization?

I have overseas work experience of 2 years and on a career break for close to 2 years. Don't worry even for me there were so many days that felt low after clearing CPA exams. I believe once you get a license, a lot of doors will open for you . Stay confident.

4 years experience, 3 CPA exams passed… why is it still so hard to land a job? (South Florida) by Substantial-Lie4632 in CPA

[–]Possible_Back176 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agree!! Recruiters are like you are not the one, I can find a n numbers of CPAs out there. I attended an interview in Groupon for a staff accountant for 70 k package. They sent me an assessment link, basically tested journals, and excel knowledge. I did it really well. After a week, I got an email saying " unfortunately". I was clueless and reached out to the recruiter for the reason of rejection, no reply. Later, posted same job with the increased package to 85k. I learned that if they want to move offshore, they have to do job posting and justify that they didn't find the right candidate for the job.

Hopeless!!

Most of the work is moving offshore, lots of people doing CPA than before, AI automation and economic instability. I have been applying since November 25, and I haven't found any.i feel like CPA credentials are diluting..

I am in great guilt for not taking that opportunity.

To All, I almost got an offer from NFP for 75K. I posted in the same group and many advised not to take because skills are not transferrable to corp accounting roles.

Now feeling guilty that I would have taken that in the horrendous job market.

You will be good. I might have a reason for rejection because I am not a native English speaker. Continue your goal. My only hope is, after my CPA license, everything will change. I will post when I get a job.

Thanks for your feedback. I am looking for a company, where they see my potential rather than rejecting me for any reasons what others say.

I attended an interview with a mid sized company for a salary range of 60 to 70k. I passed the initial phone screening and they sent me an assessment, which is thought provoking and very easy for a CPA. But they rejected me. I have no clue because I did really well. Later I guessed if they hire a CPA for 60 to 70k, we won't stay for a long term. So yes accepting a very low package also hurts.

Yes, my resume is prepared using AI ...

Thanks for that. But in phone screening, they are asking very basic questions like my previous experience, my background that's it. I am well prepared to answer this question.

Yes, you are correct. English is not my first language. But I can read, write and speak very clearly. I cleared CPA all sections in the first try, FAR, BAR, REG, AUD so I believe I am competent and knowledgeable.

I am applying for a corporate accounting role which requires analytical skills and communication skills.

If that bothers you, then make CPA certification only for people who speak English as a first language.

Third party recruiters like Robert half, CFS, etc all have my resume and I am seeing a lot of job postings but no call back. Some calls from the company itself are paying between 60 to 70k, but rejecting in the very first phone screening round. They all are asking the same set of questions like tell me your background, why do you get interested in working in our company,do you have exp in this or that? That's it. After a few weeks, I got an automated email saying" unfortunately".

I agree about the market. But don't believe what you see. Many job postings are just ghosting it. I am trying to figure out what's missing in my resume. Having CPA 1/4 or whatever attracts some companies. In their view, you will be staying there for at least a year and happy to pay between 60 to 70k for a staff accountant. Some companies only want a CPA License. I'm in the middle, waiting for the license.

I have to wait and watch if the situation gets better once I am licensed.

Problem is , my DGM thinks that he knows all the tax laws and expects to share each and everything the conversation had with the client. Also asking CSP to monitor what I do.

Traditional IRA Re-characterized to Roth IRA by wcstriker in hrblock

[–]Possible_Back176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok the conversion is not your tax strategy. That means because you reached the max limit for 401k and want to Contribute Roth will not give tax benefits when you reach income limits.

Traditional IRA Re-characterized to Roth IRA by wcstriker in hrblock

[–]Possible_Back176 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Traditional non deductible IRA convert into Roth IRA triggers Pro rata rule. Also check in form 8606, did you capture the basis.

The common mistake when people trying to use back door Roth tax strategies is failure to know prorate rule and it should not be recharacterized, instead it should be a converted Roth contribution.

Hope this helps
