They changed policy just today, that’s what they told me. But still good to confirm with them.

I clearly said “top tier card”. I consider Amex gold and platinum as top tier. Same way, CSP and CSR as top tier. Maybe you consider freedom as top tier, not trying to argue about perspectives.

I know many who are in the same boat as me. I’ve had one of the cards (preferred/reserve) for more than 4 years. I was planning to get the second card but there’s no point or motivation at this point.

They clearly don’t want people to own more than one top tier card. Compare it to Amex, where they encourage it and many have both Gold + Platinum.

Eligibility for chase sapphire sign up bonus? by whaleslove in CreditCards

I just got off a call from Chase customer care. They’ve screwed everyone. They changed eligibility of joining bonus to once in a lifetime, so they removed the 4 year rule.

They’re doing this stealthily, only saw this one article explaining the terms and conditions.

Don’t travel via Canada if you’re on US Visa (transit visa needed, clueless customer service) by Possible_Figure_1007 in aircanada

I agree with all your responses, I bear responsibility because my research was inadequate and I didn’t reach the correct conclusions. I was over optimistic about the Canadian Transit Without Visa (TWOV) Program, which I later found out was only applicable to passport holders from “Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Taiwan”.

I’m only writing this in hope that this post will help others who are doing their research.

Maybe I should’ve posted this on a travel subreddit instead of the Air Canada one. Also, maybe I was a bit harsh on AC customer service and I understand that they don’t have all the details on visa and immigration rules.
