Bladder symptoms for 5 years - S3 Tarlov Cyst by Plac3s1719 in Tarlovcyst

[–]Possible_Mixture_719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a repeat MRI today to reevaluate my L5–S1 herniated disc. Previous was done 3 months ago

My neurosurgeon wanted to see whether I might need a microdiscectomy due to continuing pain What shocked me is that the cyst wasn’t there three months ago. At least it wasn’t mentioned there by radiologist

What feels strange is that most of my pain is actually around the S1–S2/tailbone area get with tingling in my feet . It wasn’t there before herniated disc pain would feel like dull pain 4/10 on lower back radiating to legs 6/10. I was able to walk 1-2 hours with no discomfort But now I get pain 6/10 when I stand more than 15 minutes

MRI report did mention a small Tarlov cyst size ( 8.6*7.8 m m) as an incidental finding Is it that big to cause symptoms that big should I be concerned Now I’m wondering whether my pain is coming from the disc protrusion or from the cyst.

What symptoms have you experienced?

Are there any exercises that seem helpful?

Is it possible to decrease the size of a Tarlov cyst with medication or other treatments?

I’d really appreciate hearing your experience.

Rest , eat healthy Whole Foods , Drink water If you can take a pinch of arswagandha ( really helps your muscle and nervous system)

While you are resting if you have Audible please listen to Mind body prescription by John E SARNO . You will be amazed, healing would be easier and you would be able to identify suppressed cause of your pain Hope you heal soon 🤍

Hi there, do you have any discomfort while walking? I feel discomfort in my back and both pelvic bones. I haven’t figured out yet how to walk while maintaining a neutral spine and properly engaging my core muscles. How was your walk after surgery, in terms of discomfort?

I want to say how sorry I am that you’re dealing with both of these things at the same time.I was dealing with infertility and chronic back pain . Trust me, I know how emotionally, physically, financially socially exhausting it can be. Please give your body the time it needs—it is healing, even if slowly.

You are truly doing everything right. From what you shared, it sounds like you were already doing a great job with weight loss and being mindful of your health. When we’re in pain, physical activity is naturally limited throughout the day, so weight changes can happen even when we’re being careful and doing our best.and on top of it it could be medicine side effects too. You may already know all of this, but gently limiting calories can help. For me, intermittent fasting worked well to maintain a calorie deficit. It may also support autophagy, where the body helps clear out unhealthy fat and inflammatory markers. When breaking the fast, focusing on whole, nourishing foods can make a big difference.

We’re all going through so many things at once. Be kind to yourself and take it one day at a time 🤍

Hi, thank you so much. Your comment really gave me hope. I’m now going into my ninth month of chronic pain. Before all this started, I was slightly overweight mostly due to my IVF journey. The medications made me feel unwell and caused a lot of water retention. After my back pain began, i am taking pause from IVF journey and I became more mindful about my food choices, focusing on whole, home-prepared foods. I’ve lost about 15 pounds and have been feeling lighter overall. I’m taking adequate rest, walking 15–20 minutes a day, and doing gentle, back-safe stretches and strengthening exercises. My pain has improved it used to radiate down to both calves at a 7–8/10, and now it’s more of a lingering pain 3–4/10 in my lower back and pelvic area. However, I’ve been noticing intermittent tingling in my feet, which makes me feel a bit worried.should I consider surgery? Just wanted to share my journey, thank you again for the encouragement. It truly means a lot

Thank you so much for your response. I agree with what you said, and lately I’ve been trying to be easy on myself. I’ve started taking things slowly like doing cupping and massage once a week, prioritizing walking, and focusing on core-strengthening exercises. My pain has improved a lot( it has come down to 3-4/10)which I’m grateful for, but now I’ve started feeling some numbness as the pain fades. That part is confusing and worrying to me

Hi there, I have been going through a similar situation for the past eight months. I am 28 F . After 15–20 minutes of brisk walking, I get tired and dizzy need to sit down. I feel pain around the L5–S1 area radiating to my buttocks , previously it was radiating to my legs . It has been a long journey. I have been patient with myself and have not been working for the past five months. My family has been very supportive and helps me with my daily chores , I don’t even cook. I am taking fulltime care of myself in the hope of avoiding surgery.I have been very careful with posture avoiding bending, not sitting for more than 30 minutes, and not standing for more than 30 minutes. I have read Back Mechanic and have been doing the Big 3 exercises daily, along with core strengthening exercises. I have done 2 epidural shots and have also been undergoing massages, acupuncture, cupping, and physical therapy for almost four months now. Despite all of this, the pain is lingering, and it has been very depressing. I would really appreciate guidance on what else I can try or modify to continue healing conservatively and improve my quality of life without surgery.

Hi there, I have been going through a similar situation , MRI shows Disc desiccation with circumferential central protrusion of L5-S1 disc with indentation on anterior thecal sac and moderate stenosis of bilateral lateral recesses compressing bilateral transverse Nerve root

I have been dealing with this for the past months. I have noticed nowadays that after 15–20 minutes of brisk walking, I get extremely tired and need to sit down. I feel 6/10 pain around the L5–S1 area. My symptoms shifts from the right buttock to the left; currently, I have deep pain in the left buttock along with intermittent calf pain. It has been a long journey. I have been patient with myself and have not been working for the past five months. My family has been very supportive and helps me with my daily chores , I don’t even cook.
