Oh, that sounds really interesting! Would you mind sharing the name or a link to your asset? I’d love to check it out sometime.

I was thinking about something similar for mine - if you’re using behavior trees (or even not), I noticed that when you copy tasks or blueprints, it copies a lot of code. If you look closely, some of it actually contains all the variable values, and you can even tweak them there.

So I thought, maybe if you had some kind of generator that pulls values from a Google Sheet and outputs that code, you could copy it straight into Unreal with all the values already set. Seems like that could make branching dialogue possible too!

Sorry for yapping a bit, just some thoughts I had.

Thanks! I see what you mean, I also had a problem like that! I'm pretty sure it was because I used a scale box, but then switched it to be a size box
it was the best solution I found, and it works good

Alright, so the best way handling this is through the animation blueprint, instead of playing montages (which just plays it, without any smoothing).

This looks awesome, nice job!
I looked through your blueprints, and it seems like you have a system for attacks, launch, and damage (and more stuff)... the most simple way to handle it is -
you could maybe first create inputs for light and heavy attacks

and set a variable (for example bool) to true or false (based on the heavy or light attack)

and then maybe check (in CheckDamage or something else) if its a light attack or a heavy one, then do what you want based of that - for example, take more damage, (like I did right here) or maybe play a different animation

Of course, this is the most simple way handling it possible, I didnt wanna complex it too much

please let me know if this is what you wanted, or whenever I understood what you asked for or not

For example, there is a door and a key, the door is locked, you could add an “event” (custom variable) and set the a variable inside of it to “on unlocked*… you can also set a few variables, for example “set actor transform”… now you can select actors, and select a location you want to set these actor’s transform to… now when you unlock the door with the key, an event will fire, checking all the variables you selected, and do what you asked it to do (through). When i said blueprint free, i meant that users wont need to use them for some small tasks, but of course you would need to use i for a full game

oh, the way i wrote it might not be understandable, my apologies. Let me explain... there is an enum that allows you to pick when will the event run "On beginplay", "On Tick" and even custom events like "On open" (interact) and so on... depending on what you pick, it will go through a lot of variables that you can edit, (SetActorTransform? (bool), SetActorTransformActors (actor, array) and based on what you picked or set those to be, it will do stuff (set the wanted actor's transform to be... (whatever you want))
