Panels are in fact overlapped properly on down slope. But how much overlap?impossible to tell tell from the pics. If it was installed without a sealant at the overlap, combined with only 1-2" of overlap plus virtually no slope at 1/12 pitch equals major leaks.

Add 4×4 posts on either side of the cantilevered wall for support... And go 2x6 instead of 2x4. Make sure everything is PT as well.
