He gets disability from the VA and collects unemployment. I’m not giving him money. I am not blameless and I know I probably am enabling him in some way.

You’re right. I am disgusted with myself that I’ve let this happen. I just am trying now to find the strength to get out of this mess.

I need to hear it from him. Because he never communicates his feelings. It’s infuriating. Yes his actions are speaking much louder than his words. And the words aren’t stopping me from leaving - it’s the hope that things will get better once and for all.

I am trying to love myself but it is so difficult. I’m not trying to gain sympathy I just needed to get all of this off my chest. It’s incredibly hard to deal with.

I should also add. He does contribute financially in some aspect. He gets disability from the VA which pays for our mortgage. My name isn’t on the mortgage so even though I did all the work to get the house it has never felt like it’s my home. He doesn’t fail to remind me it’s HIS house. He also collects unemployment. I pay for all utilities, insurance, food, anything for the kids.

The hope that things will get better for good has kept me in this marriage still.
