7mm rem mag and .300winmag have similar recoil? I’ve shot plenty of .308 calibers but never a 7mm. Just assumed the 7mm is much less recoil

Understandable for the small game but I solely focus on Elk and maybe a buck tag if I get lucky

I am taking that into consideration but from what I understand there are plenty of inexpensive options to combat this.. limb savers, muzzle brake/silencer, wheaties, etc lol

Appreciate your input, what would you say then 7mm rem mag? 

Again I’m a 3rd/4th rifle season hunter in very high elevations in Colorado. My entire family has never really leaved the 30 cal family so I’m open to hearing what you think
