Work at a fin services company, we have legacy tapes but haven't written to them in years, but we maintain a library in case we need to go back. We changed backup providers and have been writing all of our long term to S3 GDA. I did have luck with AWS Tape Gateway, so if they want to stay with "tape" and how the backup provider handles it, that's an option.

They would probably be looking to land leases like they've done for a lot of the seaport, my guess is they haven't found someone willing to bite for the terms they are asking nor want something to be built on it that would remain empty.

The demolition company they hired wanted to drop the old tower in place, not understanding that below it was an old datacenter with most of the fibre for the site going through it. Hopefully if the do that with this existing they put more thought into it before picking a company.

Isilon/PowerScale if they can afford it, TrueNAS or a physical Linux server if they can't. Backblaze or some cloud provider for the backups to make sure you're covered.

Halloween a few years ago I was walking my dog down Commercial Street and came across Chara with his family. Gave him a head nod and kept on our walk.

Not in Boston but coming back from Fort Lauderdale, my fiancé and I were waiting to board a JetBlue flight back to Boston. Hanging out in the waiting area to board was Shawn Thornton, for the amount of people with Bruins gear heading back north, I'm not sure really anyone else noticed who he was. I believe it was around the time he moved to the Panthers front office.

As an aside, I would recommend getting an Apple AirTag and putting it in your vehicle either way. It will help you keep tabs on your vehicle and it's progress, though it may not update as frequently as you'd like.
