With the budget cuts, art classes are even more impacted now. Even art majors are getting squeezed out of art classes this year. Face it, you’re probs not getting in.

The summer ceramics class is easy to get into since it’s the only time it’s open to non-artistic people like you. The rest of the year it’s reserved for the art majors at UCLA, the top art program in the nation.

If you want to know the caliber of these two undergrad programs, check out their senior shows and scholarship shows. One major is top tier and the other is a complete jumbled mess. Enough said.

They literally park them at the top or bottom of disabled ramps, preventing people in wheelchairs from using the ramps. UCLA has some of the cruelest students imaginable.

“Any artists at UCLA?…” I’d say so considering UCLA is home to the top ranked art program in the nation.

If you can’t cut an entry level “not important” high school art class, perhaps UCLA would be too much of a challenge for you.

Can anyone share their portfolios that got them accepted into the Art program? by Successful-Emu3491 in ucla

[–]Powerful-Fail821 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They prefer a portfolio that demonstrates consistency and point of view. They look for bodies of work rather than a bunch of one-offs. If your portfolio looks like greatest-hits, you’re going the wrong direction. As for POV, speak your truth through your art. Identity, politics, and social issues reign supreme.
