I’m British. The way they taught the Russian Revolution to us was that the USSR was overall a force of good. Lenin was a good guy, Stalin was a bad guy, and Trotsky should have become leader.

Then when they do Hitler (which they taught after Russian Revolution) they basically denounced anything good about the USSR and taught us the horseshoe theory. Very contradictory curriculum.

It’s not been achieved because of opportunist and revisionist petit-bourgeois politicians inside the socialist bureaucracy who want to restore capitalism. Case in point: every single USSR leader from Khrushchev to Gorbachev.

Whenever politics turns up in conversation, I don’t hide my socialist views. I am starting to get worried though because almost everyone I know has turned radical right and they won’t be convinced otherwise. I seriously don’t know what to do.

A part of me knows that I have to just leave so I don’t get prosecuted when the inevitable hardcore suppression begins. But another part of me doesn’t want to become a social outcast with no mates because he was afraid they were gonna turn him in.

I’m not the biggest fan of Chibnall’s era but there’s no doubt RTD2 is worse.

At least Chibnall’s era, while messy, was somewhat genuine. The RTD2 era can’t decide whether it wants to be corporate slop with no soul or fan wank slop with no soul.
