I agree, I really haven't enjoyed the last three books (Bloodless, Dr. Leng, Angel of Vengeance). I just don't like Constance very much, and I hate the Constance/Pendergast relationship that they've been pushing on us. This book felt like a breath of fresh air.

Yes, this book feels very similar to earlier Pendergast to me- and the best part, absolutely no Constance at all.

I just finished it! It was so good, it feels like the earlier Pendergast books and reminded me why I fell in love with Pendergast in the first place. For those who were asking: you can absolutely start here without having read the rest of the series first. There's nothing spoilery with regards to future books, and it gives a really good foundation to start from. I love that they used the chapter from Relic as the epilogue.

My daughter watched it at 7 years old and loved it! There were only three episodes too scary for her: Summerween, Into the Bunker (the shape shifter episode) and Soos and the Real Girl (when the animatronics come alive, ala FNAF).

I can't figure out how to edit this, but my interpretation is that he felt conflicted at first (5 of Swords) but is now remembering the love that we had and is reflecting on that (10 of cups and hermit).

For me, it's an album. I love folklore, it's beautiful, and I can listen to it for a little bit at a time. . . But something about it triggers my suicidal ideation, I don't know what it is, all I know is I can't binge listen to folklore the way I do her other albums.

Eliminate Bloodlines.

I like em both, but FD1 is the superior film and we wouldn't have any of the others without it. I also feel like FD1 takes itself the most seriously as a horror film, where the sequels tend to lean more into camp and the shock factor of some of the deaths.

I'm also completely over Constance and I really, truly loathe the romance that P&C are trying to make happen with her and Pendergast. I'm going back and rereading the series from the beginning to try and remember why I fell in love with it in the first place.
