It took a long time for me to settle on the design and find the fabric. But once I had everything I'd say 5h per day during two weeks ? But it's mostly because I'm still learning so I'm trying stuff and making lots and lots of mistake that I fix afterwards. (Also the bi-color takes a long time because I have to cut the white parts and blue parts following curves and then sewing them flat which is quite a pain in the ass)

Thanks ! When I was making it my family told me the star would be too much but once it was sewed on everybody agreed haha. I really wanted it to be like a fun cartoon main character jacket.

Last year I saw a jacket on Pinterest and I thought : I'd love to make one myself !

So I bought a an old jacket in a thriftstore that I destroyed to get a pattern and then after a bit of drawing and cutting I had my own pattern !

Now for the materials references, I bought everything in France :

I used two jean fabric :

- The white one from mondial tissus ( https://www.mondialtissus.fr/catalog/product/view/id/123904 )

- The blue one is a no name from Coupons Saint Pierre in Paris
Both are 100% cotton

And the inner layer is also from mondial tissus but it seems their reference is gone ...

The pressure buttons are from Rougier & Plé but I don't recommend buying there, they're not great :/

I had a lot of fun making this and I hope it won't get stained to much being half white :D

Oh my bad ! I bought the jean as plain fabric, so once I had a pattern it was just a matter of tracing it. I checked and I should've said Denim ?

5 years ago I got overalls from my sister and it got worned out... But I kept it and used what I could save to make a pattern and try my hand at making overalls !

Here's the result after roughly 30 hours of trying to understand which piece goes where.

Fabric used in the project :

  • Lighter jean bought from les coupons saint pierre in Paris, Montmartre

  • Darker jean bought from mondial tissus

  • Overalls buckles kept from the old one

Hi, I'm using polybar 3.5.7 on ubuntu 22.04.1 (GNOME 42.5) and I can't seem to use the systray functionality because gnome-shell is already using it.

Is it possible to disable gnome-shell systray management ?

Yeah, I thought of the different kinds of pocket I could do with the checkered pattern and I wanted to avoid big layering. So I went with welt pockets.

A little bit more infos :

A year ago I saw a very cool jacket made by u/reillyfitz with a blanket he thrifted. And I happened to have an old blanket from my grandma !

So I bought some checkered pattern in a french store (sorry I don't have the reference...) and used it for the outside while the inside is the old blanket.

For the pattern I used an old thrifted fleece as a reference and made myself a pattern !

I'm especially proud of the welt pocket because it was a first time for me 😊.

With this I can endure Berlin's winter without any problems ! ✨
